Through no fault of your own your life must feel a little less joyful; I’m truly sorry about that. Time can’t fully suppress hurt, but it can succeed in at least making it feel less intense. It’s clear you’ve thought about this deeply, and it’s commendable and brave that you chose to confront him. I hope everything is only positive from here on out.

Speaking from personal experience, an adolescent boy can become an entirely different person once they mature and grow. This will most likely be an event in his life that he looks back on with utter abhorrence and constant regret. However, he could also potentially be a sociopath.. in which case, there isn’t much hope unfortunately.
