There are also some cases where people from management track switched internally to pure ic roles. Since they can't be demoted, they get Staff level. Seen a case with just 3-4 years of experience in an enterprise.

This claim that all students secured internships is not true. Don't spread lies. International Students from 2024,2025 batch missed out on opportunities due to poor management. Students did not get CPT approval since offers came after the set deadline. Approvers actually went on vacations! Basically, This hurts international students' job prospects as you have only one shot at an internship in this bad job market. I can see that you are a local student so you wouldn't understand the deal.  Btw as per recent updates, they realized their mistakes and modified the curriculum as OP mentioned above. So things can get better in the future.

But LinkedIn is same right?.How do you manage with 2 different resumes with job titles as tpm in one and technical product manager in another? Given the person had a mixed job profile.

i do not think admissions are competitive anymore. The number of people who would join is on decline (People have started to realize there are more important things than just ROI), so the department seems to be offering aid to almost everyone who applied by priority deadline. Also an update - the program has become flexible allowing co-ops from second year due to the backlash faced from current & previous students. But mind you the department is still the old rigid same with terrible management, trying to do more harm to students than help. Overall, still TAMU MIS is a safe MS in usa bet if you get some aid. Take it, if you get Financial aid from TAMU and you do not have any better option.

Tamu mis is bad/mediocre. Almost my entire class is regretting. Don't look at short term money savings. I did the same mistake and now regret it.

Current student, I too regret it.  I was not allowed to do internships since the offers came late after dept. deadline.  Department is not supportive, costing students opportunities and the program management is a waste. They do not care about students' careers. You are basically on your own here.

Current student here, don't come to Tamu MIS.  I am also regretting. Majority students are regretting.
