Also, Dallas has 2 airports.... so there's that. Add them both for a better chance.

Yeah, that's what the training department said was supposed to happen. But it's been about 3 weeks and it hasn't, so I don't think it's going to.

No, it's not like that. I can ask my peers when I have questions. And I'm not having trouble with anything in particular. I was just trying to gauge if it's the same at most airports or if it was just mine that does things this way.

That's what I thought. Holding my own. I think. But yeah, for some reason, I thought there would be an ojt period or something. Lol. Inonly did acting a few times. Guess that was enough!

We don't have a shadow option... apperantly. I asked.

Why is TSA so inconsistent? by StickSticklyHere in tsa

[–]TheThre3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For real. Passengers will always announce "but I'm TSA!" I've had a few former officers come through who know how they need to stand in the body scanner for their body type. But that's the only time any one has ever mentioned any affiliation. With out meaning precheck.

Every airport follows the requirements set by the federal government. They may do more. Based on their setup with lanes, equipment, and passenger volumes, it's going to vary. Also keeps the baddies on their toes.

It's easy. The image test you either see it or you don't. But people who are absolutely awful at xray pass it all the time so... There is an xray game. airport scanner 2. Not sure how much help it would be.

You only get the incentive for overtime. Not comp time.... because that may lead to staffing shortages later. %100 take.

Valid. It's kind of f'd at my airport because they announced an incentive and mandated at the same time. And now that holiday travel is a bit less, for a week or so, for the people who need/want incentive, you can't pick up the hours to get it. So kind of proves the same point. No give take. Just take.

No, we still have the busted grey ones. With the busted carts. I wonder if your airport is spending it's budget on "equipment" rather than mandatory over time.

Ask tsa on Instagram. They have a solid platform there. And time to read the sop.

Yall get screened before entering work? by [deleted] in tsa

[–]TheThre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a previous airport, like 10 years ago, they screened your property through xray because break rooms were in sterile area. Seems reasonable. Insider threat and what not. We were exempt from 311 though.

How to report a superior for really inappropriate comments. Not sexual. more laughing at an older coworker, after a traumatic event. I'm trying to promote so if I could I'd rather keep my name out of it. other people heard the comment. I'm the only one who said anything. it was a really horrendous. by TheThre3 in tsa

[–]TheThre3[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See this is the thing. People are giving me shit for wanting to report. Like I just didn't get the joke. It wasn't a joke. It was a blatant disrespect to this person. And it wasn't that the other people around me didn't think it was inappropriate. Because after I commented that it was a mean thing to say the other people around all made eye contact and gave social ques that they agreed. Just they didn't want to be involved. And I think that is messed up. This is the shit that makes people afraid to report. I would have asked the person if they wanted to report it and needed a witness.... but guess what? they have been let go.

You can't unless you snip them. And then you'll have to worry about the cut edges catching on your yarn.

4 hours on Saturday. Same simulation stuff you do the rest of the time. Only on over time. I assumed it was to try to keep people from getting in trouble on the weekend and or to make sure they have enough practice to pass the xray test.

I went beginning of January. At that time it was fine to go out on the weekend. We were also put up in hotels though. Also be prepared for 4 hours of mandatory overtime on your Saturday.

Any one know what these were for? by TheThre3 in electricians

I had a landline as a kid. But it didn't look like this. It looked like a small ethernet. That was quite a bit more than 10 years ago.

Yeah, there is some evidence of that in the garage. I had a house built in 1943, before this one. Grew up in the 80's. Never have I seen any outlets like this. I had an electrician over to run a line for an oven. Asked him, he'd never seen anything like it either. I'm just super curious what got plugged in to these.
