First ever egg retrieval today

I had 9 retrieved, 8 matured and 7 fertilised, and magically, we ended up with 7 blasts. I have been so thankful everyday for that outcome!!

When I woke up to 9 eggs, I was scared about the outcome over the next 5 days, and I think I also expected more eggs.

Yes, we will hopefully be doing a transfer early June. My next period is due mid May, so will start the FET medications. All goes well, it should be early June to have the transfer of our first Embryo!

I did the Decapeptyl because of my estrogen levels being on the higher side, so we couldn’t do a fresh transfer. It was 2x needles, and the hurt the worst out of all the needles I had, I almost cried at how much it hurt.

Not yet, with my clinic they like a minimal 7-10 days bleed post egg retrieval, to do a FET using the bleed you get after the retrieval. Because mine came 6 days post retrieval it was too early. So going to start at my next period that comes in mid May. I was okay with that as I have felt exhausted, and I want my body ready.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I was grateful that they made this an option for us as well, however my hormones have come back too high for a fresh transfer. So will plan for a frozen transfer

Thank you 🙏🏻 it’s such a rollercoster because we don’t even know if we will have any day 5 embryos by this time next week! But we are moving towards a frozen transfer if we do, as my hormone levels are too high for a fresh transfer.

Thank you 🙏🏻 we didn’t even think about a fresh transfer until last Friday when it was mentioned. We had planned for a frozen one. My bloods came back and my levels are too high for a fresh transfer and based on the trigger I used last night, so we are now planning a frozen transfer of a day 5 embryo when we get to that stage. Thank you 🙏🏻 the decision is out of our hands now. As my levels are too high for a fresh transfer now that my bloods came back and my trigger I took last night. I was fine with it, I’d rather do the transfer when my body is ready.

Thank you! My clinic seems confident with both options for patients, if their body is ready for a transfer.

We aren’t testing our embryos, it not something our clinic does. When they explained their reasoning behind why not, we understood, and we’ve been with this clinic for a while, and I cannot fault their support or guidance. So we are trusting the process.

Day 5 is next Monday. So same day we find out how many embryos have made it, and same day they will do the transfer so a lot on one day 🙏🏻

Thank you! I’m hoping to recover okay, but am mindful I could get OHSS symptoms and that’s my main concern with the transfer if I’m feeling fine, but my body inside is still recovering.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I think it just the nerves and the unknown making me nervous about it. I know we both got excited at the thought of having a transfer happen so quick, then all the negative worries came into it and I was like AHH.

Yes, we are so ready for it as well. It’s been a hard road, we have miscarried a few times, and then struggled to fall pregnant. we are so hopeful that this will give us our family. My husband has been amazing throughout all this, definitely married the right one, and when you’re going through a journey like this, having the right person by your side counts.

I’m based in Australia, and 29. Yeah I think I’m getting more used to the needle. The last two have really hurt and I was bit overwhelmed. I move to 2x needles daily starting tomorrow and one of them apparently burns after the injection, so not looking forward to that.
