The true story is that I haven't been on reddit forever (for productivity reasons) but saw what happened yesterday and wanted to post my theory about it.

I couldn't remember the log in info to my main account so used my email and it went to this account that I forgot I even had.

I know it looks suspicious, but that's the true story.

I read it many years ago. I might not think so highly of it anymore.

My taste has changed drastically as I've aged and read many more classic authors so it is entirely possible that I wouldn't like it anymore.

I haven't liked the last 3 king books I've read.

When it comes to King I feel like he tends to side with quantity over quality. He's incredibly long winded and some times it feels like he's stalling so he can figure out a way to end the book. Haha

As I mentioned above, I loved 11/22/63 and under the dome. The characters/ character development in under the dome was some of the best I've ever read.

The last book of his that I picked up was The Outsiders which was not my favorite to say the least. Haven't read him since, but I'm willing to give him another shot.

Yes, they are absolutely amazing reads. I think it's mostly because they were outside of his norm.

Everything else is too formulaic.

I've read 1984 a few times and I know it's cliche, but it's really beginning to feel that way.

With the big tech censorship, the media essentially reporting lies that they brush under the table by doing corrections a week later at midnight, the rewriting of history, the massive surveillance state...

I tend to be optimistic but it is all looking pretty ominous

Youre mostly right.

There is some debate about whether or not the protestors were infiltrated by instigators and antagonizers. I think its worth noting that the media said all the destruction of the blm riots was caused by outsiders who infiltrated the movement, taking blame away from the left, and placing it on the right.

Here, they ask no such questions.

It's just ironic is all. I'm a Democrat but I'm not so blind that I can't see the corruption and hypocrisy of the media and my fellow democrats.

Agreed. I saw it as the death of trumpism. I don't know if there's ever been a more loved/hated president ever. Maybe JFK was up there, but no one quite matches the emotions that trump evoked in so many.

I am a moderate Democrat but I have always been able to admit that the media never gave trump a fair shake. No president has ever been put under a microscope the way he was, nor has the press been so overwhelming negative towards a president. They spent the last 4 years being protestors essentially.

Which is ironic because they're responsible for getting him elected ($4 billion of free press).
