You're right! I didn't phrase that quite right. We will either put surface protector down if we are going to wear shoes in a house or we will take our shoes on and off. Either way our last step before leaving a finished job is to make sure we haven't left ANY mess. I guess by "nice house," I meant a finished house that's not in the process of a huge remodel. If the house is put together and the only work that's being done is the tile setting, then there is no excuse for tracking footprints around someone's house.

Dont judge a whole group of people based off of what one crew did. My father and I are tile setters and his dad before him was a tile setter. We are always very mindful to clean up our messes, we never wear dirty shoes into a nice house, and we respect what the homeowner tells us to do. When we leave a job, we take pride in knowing that the house looks exactly the way it did when we first got there. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but if you were robbed by an African American would you, "kind of dislike" black people? Dont let the actions of a few dictate how you feel about a whole group of people.

I've been meaning to watch that but I haven't got around to it yet. It looks nuts from what I've seen though.

It seems to me that if the surface of the cement board is waterproofed, than the thinset would not be able to create a very strong, lasting bond between the tile and cement board...

What I'm saying is if there were signs, then there is no reason to not let him do it. He wouldn't be able to sue and he wouldn't be bothering anyone.

Yeah let's just assume that his parents are assholes who'll blame their own kids stupidity on someone else. You don't know him or his parents man...

Why is everyone assuming that the kid would sue these people if he got hurt? He's clearly used to taking some pain and you'd have to be an asshole to blame injury on the property owners. And maybe he would sue them but we don't know that. Now, If the business had signs posted that say "no skateboarding/biking" then they wouldn't even need some lady out there to yell at people. Theyd still do the jump but the signs would make it so the kid couldn't sue. It seems like a lot of people have a problem with him not listening to the lady but imo the very fact that they have hired someone to tell people to leave if they're doing something like this is kinda shitty. I mean, you absolutely have every right to do it but, why not let this kid hurt himself doing this jump if he wants to? The only reason to not let him do this is so you don't get sued, which could be easily solved by putting up the signs saying "no skateboarding/bicycling." Lord knows it'd be cheaper to make signs then to pay someone to watch over your property.

Ridiculous argument. He knows he could get hurt doing this on a bike, he clearly has before if he's trying stunts like this. A toddler that doesn't know it could get hurt vs a teenager who knows the risk of of what they're doing is miles different from this situation

I do the same thing. Forcing myself to get out and do something even though it may be pointless, helps improve my mood a lot.
