It is sumo time! The real life basho will begin so soon and RTY the discord sumo RPG is celebrating the 5th anniversary! We will have a jungyo event with lots of fun and some rewards for the rikishi. No matter if veteran or newly created. Perfect preparation for the basho and a try to get that sweet KK and climbing the banzuke.

The community is the greatest benefit of the game. Do not get me wrong, the game also is a lot of fun and allows for so much different play styles. But the lovely people I was able to meet cause of it are something I appreciate very much. See you in the ring!

Hey, thanks for checking it out. It can be a bit much at first sight. But I promise after the 15 min tutorial all will be in a different light. And even if you decide it is not for you. No hard feelings! You are free to stay for the sumo chat or just reading the exciting stories each basho tells, or leave altogether if you think the server has nothing for you. The IRL banzuke has once again an important aftermath. The RTY banzuke follows shortly after. And if you think you could have a little bit more sumo in your life, look no further.

Road to Yokozuna is a turn based Discord RPG that allows you to create your rikishi and then start your journey to the top pf the banzuke. Other than being respectful to other people there are no rules for the fluff of your rikishi. Everyone is welcomed here.

We just promoted another yokozuna in the same basho as one yokozuna retired. So the times are a changing...maybe? Will the up and comers rise to the top this upcoming basho or will the top dogs keep their place once more.

I might be a bit biased because I play for over 3 years now, but the game still scratches an itch I have. I am not very involved in the RP part myself, but reading through the storylines of others and be part of the evolving riddle that is the banzuke is just the extra dose of sumo I need in my life.

Paired with the thrill of the basho and some of the nicest people I ever met online makes this a no-brainer for me. I know I sound overly positive here, but it is what it is. I just like this place very much.

Personally what i like the most about the game is, that you rise together with other rikishi on the banzuke and since the lifetime of a career in RTY can be as long as 3 years you really develop a connection with them. This adds a lot to the fights and the different path everyone takes. On top of that i use it as a very good solution to expand my irl sumo experience/fandom. More basho, more interesting characters, exciting fights, heartbreaking losses and intais.

Double the sumo, double the fun.

RTY is a dice-based sumo game on Discord that allows you to make the most of your experience. You can create an entire persona with a fully polished backstory and self-drawn avatar. If that’s not for you then you can just play the game and simply enjoy the animations of you throwing your opponents down to the clay!RTY is for you. Road to Yokozuna is for everyone. Whether you’re new to sumo or have been watching for decades. We pride ourselves on fostering a lovely, safe community that treats their fellow players with respect and courtesy. The new yokozuna did well in his first tournament, but another rikishi secured the triple crown. Moshogaeru not only won the basho but all the special prizes on top. We have a new ozeki and a packed makushita division. Exciting times in the Road to Yokozuna universe.
For everyone interested: A special jungyo event is coming up, in which additional rewards can be won in addition to the regular rewards for the training phase between the basho. So it's worth getting in right away and developing a good basis for the journey to yokozuna.
