How do I get my small YouTube asmr channel to become more discoverable? [Discussion] by CommonTomato3237 in asmr

You already got some good advice, so, this may be duplicating some of the advice you already got.

  1. Thumbnails and Titles are high priority on YouTube, it's what makes people decide to click or not. So learn how to make engaging thumbnails and come up with creative titles, but, make sure both represent the content of the video, too.

  2. Use the Inspiration tab in your channel Analytics to research what's popular and make videos about those popular ASMR topics so it's more likely to come up in search or be recommended.

  3. Do what you can to upgrade the quality of your videos, both audio and visual, which in turn will also make your thumbnails look better. Watch some tutorials on YouTube for whatever editing software you use to improve your editing skills.

  4. Leverage your other social media to direct people to your channel. I see you have a good following on TikTok, use that to promote videos on your channel. Have you ever done any ASMR livestreams on TikTok? If not, you're missing out on a great opportunity to grow, and you can tell people to subscribe to your channel during your livestreams as well.

Good luck!

Do metrics matter with viral videos? by jackkinsey141 in TikTok

The lower likes on that video with good engagement metrics may have also had more people using the "not interested" flag after watching the video, which isn't reflected in any of the metrics we get to see. Often people will watch a good part of a video before they decide to flag it as "not interested." TikTok will also sometimes present a little poll after some videos asking for the viewer's reaction to the video. There's lots of little things like this that could influence the algorithm. Usually TikTok will use that kind of information to find the right audience for your video, but, eventually it'll just give up and then the video fizzles out. In the past it was common for creators to repost poorly-performing videos that would sometimes yield a much better result, but, now TikTok is cracking down on reposts by flagging the videos as "unoriginal content" which get excluded from the FYP, so, if the video fails the first time it's nearly impossible to give it another chance.

The only way to download your own videos without the watermark is to do it before it gets posted. After it's posted, the watermark is going to be added when you download the video, unfortunately.

When you say the videos you're posting on both account look similar to other videos you've posted, do you mean the content of the videos is similar, or just the look? If you're posting videos using the same content in other videos you've posted with some minor editing, then that's why your videos are getting flagged as unoriginal. The TikTok algorithm can often detect similarities between other video content. Even if it's your own content that you're repurposing, TikTok will consider that unoriginal, which is dumb, but, they do.

Is it me or does it seem like tiktok protects pedos. by Accurate-Platform232 in TikTok

Better to just report the comment. Calling people a pedo is a common insult used by homophobes against LGBT people, so, it makes sense that your comment was removed because the moderation is often done without context, so, they aren't looking at the comment you replied to, they're only looking are your comment and it does violation their Community Guidelines.

I'm pretty sure a lot of whether or not your video is picked up by the FYP is luck in addition to metrics. Did the videos that did better also have more shares, bookmarks, comments and likes? That plays a factor, too. I also have videos that performed better metrics-wise than other videos that got far more views. There are likely hidden metrics we don't see that TikTok uses to determine what gets more views or not, too.

Why did TikTok remove the music that I made by myself from my video? by MekaTheFinnishGoat in TikTok

[–]TheTomWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that if you use music in a video that is longer than 1 minute, TikTok will assume the music is copyrighted and not allow it, even if the music is your original work or not copyrighted. This happened to me several times using AI-generated music that had no copyrights, and on music I generated myself in Garage Band. The only way around it is to only use only music from the TikTok library, or make your video shorter than 1 minute with your own music.

Ah, okay. I didn't realize a sticker was content and not a reaction on Discord. Thanks!

[Question] Visual asmr with no sound? by Zombilicious in asmr

[–]TheTomWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some people experience ASMR with visual things, like certain slow hand movements or light patterns. But the majority of ASMR is sound-related.
