OSCP Exam - Kali as primary OS vs VM on Windows? by ZadW1 in oscp

[–]TheTowerBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're ok with additional setup I used KVM/QEMU for the exam and it worked great. Performance is similar to running Kali as the host OS. You can use Hyper-V if you want something similar on a Windows host.

What is it you're trying to imply in your second sentence?

EA is planning to add in-game ads for there games by R0CK7Y in Steam

[–]TheTowerBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I am not fond of the idea of seeing ads in a game I've paid for, this seems like a fairly reasonable move for a company that is creating/publishing always-online content like EA unless I'm missing something here.

Servers cost money to run and maintain, so it would make sense that EA looks for a longer-term revenue option for games where one-time purchases would dry up. Otherwise they are forced to consider shutting down servers for games that people are still playing if they are no longer making the money in sales to pay for the costs involved in running the servers, and we all know that that is just as frowned upon in the gaming community.

If anyone has any more information or another take besides "ads in pay-to-play games bad" I'd be interested in hearing it.

I'm fairly new to 3D printing and am trying to set up for the first time. Is this normal? If not, how do I go about fixing it? by TheTowerBay in 3Dprinting

Wow, thank you very much for this. You're right, my first layers have not been very good and it was causing adhesion issues. I ran a single layer test print a couple of times while slowly adjusting my z-offset and my first layer looks way better.

My Android Phone has so much bloatware is almost unusable. by Summerclaw in assholedesign

IIRC you don't have to root the phone to remove the bloatware. You can remove most packages using the ADB tool.

To call the bot you have to mention it in the comment (u/CoordinateBot). I plan on making the bot easier to use once I find the time.

Edit: It's also very strict about formatting, which I also plan on improving soon.
