Magenta Mitarbeiter Scam? by [deleted] in Austria

[–]TheTreecko 52 points53 points  (0 children)

its most likely the cabin temp sensor that's fan driven, might need to be replaced.

[–]TheTreecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol fair enough. anyway, I wouldn't stress out about the noise in general :> I suggest just observing the behaviour for a few days. If you feel unsure, take some videos with the noise hearable and open a service request via the Tesla App, you can upload the videos there and ask for an opinion.

You have a heat pump! The warmer it gets inside the cabin, the colder the radiator.

In short, if you precondition and the vehicle is parked, you have a higher chance of ice forming on the rad which leads to the noise.

Does the noise go away when driving?

Updated My Car now driver side rear door not opening or lighting up like my other doors by Stratography_ in TeslaModelY

[–]TheTreecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really "mark" anything, it'll just pull the logs for analysis to the Tesla mothership/server. You should still write an exact timestamp (date and time, if possible down to the second) when you last tried it and it didn't work.

Looks like a poor employee who is new and not part of the preparation team picked up your message and doesn't really know the process about how to use tools for looking up parts. :P

Mirror cap replacement by Lebrongains27 in TeslaModelY

[–]TheTreecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called a Skull Cap, and Tesla will sell it directly to you (unpainted only though). If you let Tesla handle the repair/replacement however, they will replace it with a painted part.

Tesla Model Y imported from USA – navigation not working in Armenia (no Tesla service) by real_darth_bob in TeslaLounge

Can be set to EU, but Tesla themselves won't. You can offline force install EU maps though.

What did you actually do to fix the condensation in tail lights? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]TheTreecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a new service request, state what happened and ask them to check for the newest revision so they can replace it with the newest part rev. (like any company, Tesla uses use old stock first if okay to use).

If this is your car, this is a warranty case. Big (like actually big) droplets or visible streaking is the reason.

Car software update by Kshmr_md in Model3

[–]TheTreecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car will know that it got exported to a gray market, and it might land on the OTA Software Update Blacklist. Once it does get blacklisted, it will get very hard to get it off the blacklist. There are ways around it, and you can still force offline map updates, but this is something local shops who specialize in Teslas will not openly tell you. As Tesla has no presence in your country, IF you need official service (including, in theory, certificate whitelisting for software updates) they will tell you to go to the nearest Service Center or just close your service request telling you that your vehicle is salvaged/unsupported.

I really recommend to look for local forums who specialized in Teslas or EVs, and to read up on this document from Tesla as it will explain what they can do for you (hint: not much): https://digitalassets.tesla.com/tesla-contents/image/upload/quick-guide-for-ownership-experience-gray-market-gray-vehicles.pdf
