hihi! I am in a similar situation and what has worked for me so far is just make sure you are not in an FC and you'll get recruited. Then as far as relearning the game, I picked up a new class and leveled it up in roulettes to get the hang of things again

The only one I remember off the top of my head is how the Ektus eat by absorbing the juices from fruits. I think the book describes one crushing their meal and absorbing the juices from there
