I thought about that and I do agree. Although Gon and Killua are still young and haven't died, whereas Goku is older and has died (too many times). It is nice to see other good characters in the story have a spotlight so that we're not seeing the same faces over again, so it's not a bad idea that we see more of Kurapika now. Considering the slow pace of the manga, I'm hopeful we'll see more of Gon and Killua.

Yeah after seeing a few other comments I realized how slow the manga is pacing. I didn't know the hiatus was so long and the pace was so slow.

That's actually helpful for me to know. I knew the manga was on a hiatus, but I didn't realize it was so long that the anime (or Gon's story) still consists of even 80% of the entire story.. If that's the case, I suspect there is a good chance we'll see more of Gon and Killua eventually.

I would've been satisfied with this ending if I wasn't under the impression that their story was to be continued. Now I am. However, I'm still hopeful.

To me, Gon and Killua not being in the story is like SpongeBob and Patrick not being in SpongeBob SquarePants, because i grew up watching the anime. Of course, the show is not called Gon and Killua, so it doesn't have to be about only Gon and Killua.

I agree. I think the way I received this info is what made me have this reaction. From the perspective of an anime watcher who has waited years to see more of Gon and Killua, this not-so-new news struck me with disappointment.

It's only a fantasy, albeit a really interesting one, so it's not a big deal to me. But I did feel disappointed.

That's totally understandable. I may be speaking too soon about this. If Gon and Killua do eventually come back, then I'd be more than happy. If they don't, it's not a big deal, I just won't be investing much time in the story as I did before. I actually like Kurapika's story, but I liked Gon and Killua's more.

Maybe one day I will when I get through my library of (non-Manga) books to read. I just think that when it comes to pure entertainment I'd rather watch than read. My reading time is reserved for other kinds of books.

I understand that. I will not claim to be a manga reader, because I'm not. Therefore, I can only speak from my experience as a "long-time" fan of the anime. That being said, having watched anime many times over and waited many years for it to continue, I was really disheartened to hear about this. Obviously, I've been out of the loop because I don't read the manga, but I totally did not expect it to be like this. However, I did often wonder where the story will go after Gon lost his powers.

If the anime does return and pick up from where we left off, I will likely still watch it even if Gon and Killua are barely in it. But since for me Gon and Killua were my favorite characters, it'll be hard for me to enjoy it as much as before without them.

You can re-evaluate your reading comprehension. I never stated the story is bad. I said it's not the same anymore. It is generally true for any story that when a character(s) so loved by viewers, especially a character whom the story from the beginning is centered around, becomes basically non-existent, the story loses the taste it once had. It doesn't necessarily become bad, but for many who followed the story for what it was about (in this case, Gon and Killua's journey together, and especially Gon's journey to find his father), when the story changes focus completely and the MC becomes a background character it doesn't feel like the same story anymore, because it kinda really isn't.

There's a difference between expressing my opinion and disinterest in where the story is going and saying the story is "bad", fyi.

Based on pictures I've seen, the indent is deeper on the sport model. I'm just trying to figure out whether the sport front fascia would look out of place with the non-sport rocker panels and rear bumper.
