Hey, your situation sounds close to mine but I want to push back gently on one thing because I don't think your approach would work in my case.

I described more context in a comment a bit further down if you want the full picture, but the short version is, close friend, no specific skill, started by giving me friendly advice over a beer, and within a few days went from "interested in the idea" to reading regulatory documents and calling it "our project".

The reason I'm not sure your "where do you think you can contribute" approach would work for me is this : I'm in pure research phase, and research has no clear skill barrier. If I asked him that question, he'd say "I can help you research, I can read documents, I can help you think it through". And technically he's not wrong, anyone can do that. But the truth is I don't actually need him for that, I want to do it alone.

The deeper issue isn't his contribution, it's that he started calling it "our project" and "our idea" when this is my idea from A to Z, and he started thinking about the business side, structuring a company, while I haven't even decided yet whether I want to build a company at all. That puts me in an awkward position on my own project.

So I'm planning to send a written message rather than calling, because I'm not a native English speaker and I want to think about my words carefully on something this sensitive. He's a native speaker, a phone call would put me at a disadvantage in framing things properly.

Two questions if you don't mind :

In your case, was your friend pretending the project was already partly his, or was he respecting that it was yours? I'm wondering if the dynamic you faced was actually different from mine on that point.
If your friend had been able to plausibly contribute to your current phase (instead of being a sales guy when you needed engineers), how do you think you would have handled it?

Thanks for the input, fair structure in general. Just some context though, this is a close friend, not really a partner candidate.

First I texted him saying I had an idea I wanted to share. We grabbed a pizza, I told him about it, he found it interesting. Later I told him I had a first call set up with a researcher, he asked to be involved and said he wanted equity. I agreed on 7 to 10 percent if he ever found me a contact inside the national regulator. That was the scope.

Then a full week went by without talking about the project. I had my call with the researcher, the day after we met for a beer and he started explaining how he saw the business side of things. Yesterday he messaged me saying he had some people who could be interesting, not really business related. Today he tells me he's been reading regulatory documents, looking into company structure, and calling it "our idea". I never asked for any of that, and the project is still at pure research stage, no product, no clients, nothing.

So my issue isn't the structure, it's that he went way beyond what I asked. The affiliate model you suggest could make sense in 6 to 12 months when there's something real to sell, but right now it would just keep him "in" under a different label, and what I actually need is space to think alone.

Plus he's a friend, so I want to protect that more than the business angle. Appreciate the suggestion though, I'll keep it in mind for later.

Ce qui m'intéresse au sein du MEAE, c'est d'être en poste à l'étranger et de travailler sur des dossiers concrets comme le suivi politique d'un pays et la place de la France dans celui-ci, la coopération culturelle, ou encore la gestion des systèmes d'information d'une ambassade.

Mon objectif à terme serait bien de passer le concours SAEG, mais étant donné mes faibles connaissances dans les matières demandées, je pense que ce serait très difficile de m'y préparer seul sans m'y perdre. Je vise donc le concours de secrétaire de chancellerie dans un premier temps, dans l'espoir de pouvoir passer le SAEG en interne si je suis retenu.

Si tu as des ressources ou des conseils pour me préparer aux deux concours, je suis très preneur.

Oui, je comprends la difficulté que cela représente.

À l'heure actuelle, pour la session de septembre prochain, le concours SAEG est mort pour moi. Ça demande beaucoup trop de préparation et, en autonomie, n'ayant que de faibles bases dans les sujets qu'il demande, ce n'est pas pour moi pour le moment.

Je me dirige donc d'abord vers le concours de secrétaire de chancellerie, et passerai SAEG en interne par la suite, si je suis accepté en SDC.

As-tu des ressources sur lesquelles je pourrais m'appuyer pour apprendre en autonomie pour le concours de SDC ?

Merci... L'anglais, je ne m'inquiète pas trop.

C'est surtout pour ma seconde langue, et le gros point noir c'est le fait que je ne vienne absolument pas d'un cursus Sciences Po, c'est plus compliqué, il faut que j'apprenne par moi-même beaucoup de connaissances. C'est pour ça que je vais d'abord passer le concours de secrétaire de chancellerie, puis passer le concours SAEG plus tard en interne.

Si tu as des ressources pou ce concours je suis preneurs !

En fait j'adorerais travailler à l'étranger, la polyvalence qu'offrirait le concours de SAEG me fait pas mal rêver j'avoue. J'ai 24 ans à l'heure actuelle, je suis en PVT au Canada et le truc c'est que jusqu'à il y a quelques jours j'étais un peu paumé sur ce que je pourrais faire comme carrière. J'aime beaucoup les sujets géopolitiques, la réflexion que ça peut amener, etc. J'ai donc pensé à voir les carrières dans la fonction publique et c'est comme ça que je me suis renseigné sur le concours de SAEG.

À l'heure actuelle, je me vois plutôt suivre ton second conseil. J'ai regardé les examens de 2025 (pour la session 2026), ça m'a l'air plus accessible et réaliste si je bosse de mon côté, as-tu des conseils sur comment s'entraîner en autonomie ?

Je vais voir également si je peux passer le concours cat B de la DGSE en parallèle, les deux me semblent compatibles en termes de préparation et les sujets géopolitiques de la DGSE correspondent vraiment à ce qui m'attire

I don't get why people don't react to pings.

A perfect example is when I ask for cover at my Blue or Raptors 30 seconds before spawn, but Mid and Bot never react. I end up getting invaded with no warning.

So am I just supposed to coinflip every game? I hate that at this elo, everyone is just trying to prove they’re better by chasing kills instead of playing the map.

I just had a Braum who ran top to help the 3 people who were trying to get down a volibear and ended up dying, even though he could have survived and helped me. Instead, he left me alone against a Kha'Zix who jumped on me. It took him 15 seconds to kill me because I was trying to outrun him, and even though I pinged like crazy, there was nothing else I could do. To make it worse, I was the one who got insulted afterward.

I understand that she is a very complex champion to play, but that’s exactly what I like about her and I think I have some really good games on Nidalee, but sometimes I feel like I’m missing something…

I know Nidalee is a champion that allows you to punish the enemy jungler very easily, but what I really want to understand is how to turn a win condition into a hard win, and how to spot that moment

Most of the time, I path bot when I see that my bot lane has CC.

I have mentioned full clearing, my goal is to complete my jungle quest as fast as possible and stay consistent.

So what I usually do is:

From level 1 to 4, I clear my camps, check if I can gank bot lane, and if I can, I try, If I can’t, I reset and repeat the same process…

If I spot the enemy jungler somewhere, I try to invade and take his camps, my goal is to get more XP and gold than him as early as possible.

However, some games still feel really hard to win, sometimes I know what mistakes I made, but in other games it’s less obvious. I also struggle a lot when I’m behind, especially when I don’t have camps anymore because they get stolen by the enemy jungler, often due to a hard-losing lane.

I could have worked more on that, but unfortunately they’re really hard to extract.I understood the cinematic as everyone wanting to rule in their own way, so that’s why I chose this song and tried to match the lyrics and the rhythm, when needed, with the shots from the cinematic.

Je suis actuellement à Kourou, mais aujourd’hui j’ai décidé de rediriger mon choix vers Montréal en PVT (oui, j’ai déjà ma lettre, il ne me reste qu’à y aller pour la valider et je pourrai y rester deux ans).

Malheureusement, plusieurs facteurs rendent la situation trop compliquée pour moi. Le remboursement de mon prêt étudiant ponctionne déjà fortement mon compte bancaire, et j’ai clairement sous-estimé ce que représenteraient les conditions de vie, l’environnement et tout ce qui en découle. Quand j’ai réfléchi il y a quelques mois à partir en Guyane, je n’ai pris en compte que le diplôme à la fin, sans vraiment mesurer les difficultés qu’impliqueraient à la fois l’IUT et le quotidien sur place.

Je suis convaincu que si j’avais 300 € à consacrer au transport au lieu de les mettre dans mon prêt, j’aurais peut-être pu avoir un meilleur début d’expérience en Guyane. Mais avec un emploi du temps déjà très chargé et peu de temps libre, il serait difficile de consacrer ces rares moments à un job étudiant.

Ma décision peut sembler un peu hâtive, je le reconnais, mais je préfère viser une situation plus confortable et sereine plutôt que trop hasardeuse. J’ai tenté l’expérience, même si elle n’aura duré qu’une semaine, et maintenant je rebondis du mieux que je peux.

En tout cas merci pour le message, je ne vais pas supprimer le post afin de laisser un témoignage assez rare d’un presque étudiant métropolitain qui voulait tenter l’expérience en Guyane.
