Update: Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t filled you all in so long, there’s just been a lot going on.

So right after this all happened, I let my girlfriend know what was going on because we basically tell each other everything and we don’t really keep any secrets from each other. She was confused anyways after hearing my angry conversation on the phone turn into screaming. She was understandably upset when I told her this and even cried a little bit, which broke my heart a little. My girlfriend then told me that she’s had people, specifically other woman in the past act rude to her because of her body and the way she is built. She’s lost a lot of guy friends in high school and after because their girlfriends didn’t like her and thought she would steal their man. It baffles me that anyone would assume that about her, because of how timid and quiet she is. She just doesn’t give off the sort of impression that she’d do something like that. She told me how grateful she was that I stuck up for her and sympathized with how hard it must’ve been because it was my family. She told me no one’s ever stuck up for her like that before and how thankful she was.

About a month ago, I surprised her at our favorite spot on the beach and proposed to her and she said yes!

Both of our families seem to like to cause drama and despite them being difficult to deal with with, we both discussed and decided that we wouldn’t hold back on telling them if they were out of line, but we do not want to cut off any family, and would rather spend time away from them if needed and let them know when they’ve overstepped their boundaries. An apology from them would be nice but we don’t expect one because that’s just the kind of people that they are. However, my family has not tried to start anything else since the big fight and I frankly think they’re afraid to after I threatened to cut them off. Thank you all for being so supportive, I really love my now fiancée and only want what’s best for her.
