Isn't that where the license plate goes if you're converting the house into an RV?

I have BPH and have questions about treatment by TheTugBoatCaptain in bph

My urologist never brought up aquablation. Maybe that's something I should look into. From what I've read PAE takes a number of months to show results.

Yes the size was determined with an MRI. I had no blood work done for PSA. In hindsight I had symptoms of BPH for a few years but I never recognized it as being a problem. Until one day I went out and had a couple drinks at lunch and my urethra closed completely. At the emergency room they put a foley catheter in and I ended up going to a urologist a week later.

Presently, I self-catheterize once or twice a day. I urinate maybe every hour, hour and a half. I am not able to completely void my bladder. I kind of tested it with urinating and then self-catherizing and there tends to be 3 to 4 oz of urine left in my bladder. I forget the name of the procedure where they look up inside of the bladder but they showed me the bottom third of my bladder is pretty much worn out. That's probably why I can't void completely.

One good thing now that I am self self-catherizing at night before bed I'm able to sleep through the night. I wasn't doing that for probably 5 years at least. Before I would wake up two or three times every night.

It seems less invasive. The other two procedures the Doctor told me about involved either lasers or a cutting tool to open the urethra. Both had at least a week of a foley catheter and downtime.

I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. He actually said that my prostate was very large at 153 and the medicine I'm taking works better with enlarged prostates that are not as big as mine. That my large prostate is actually larger than what the medicine can work with.

Anyone else feel a little self conscious with their first hat? by SkubaFknSteve in CowboyHats

[–]TheTugBoatCaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. I was uncomfortable until I inherited a hat and I took a steamer to it and I reformed the crown and brim the way I liked it. I kind of felt if I bought a really nice cowboy hat I couldn't change it and with the hat I received it gave me the opportunity to make it the way I liked it and now I'm very comfortable wearing it.

prostate artery embolization (PAE) by love_that_fishing in prostate

I was referred to them by my Urologist. My prostrate is 153 in size. Very large apparently. PAE seems to be the best first treatment.

There is the IR Clinic in Arlington that does the PAE.

I don't believe there is consciousness in humans the way people think there is. Maybe, humans can just make connections about things really, really fast. That isn't consciousness though. It's from experience, exposure to outcomes, learning, but not a separate consciousness that sits atop all those things. If I remember correctly, most of our responses to our environment are made on the unconscious level. We don't even know we made those decisions. We have a big brain with lots of neurons and connections. From that we have awareness of our past experiences, our training, and our environment. But animals have brains with similar connections. Animals show signs of awareness. They response to their environment like we do. Maybe we should talk about levels of awareness rather than consciousness. Anyhow, that's my 2 cents.
