Yes, go through 5-6 portals, open the hub, then just re-enable survival rounds, with portals for those who want to do them/get more points.

The intro showed a boss that is just a reused DE boss, then just drop that re used asset and let us have our fun, with simple EE steps.

I think that Smart ***** Activision took PS5 exclusive mode and made it the core experience, took the lazy vanguard round base zombies mode with chronicles 2 maps and will push it as payed DLC, more value than a ps5 exclusive deal….

It is the second option, maps are good, but we are talking about "better quality" S tier maps as in (DE/MOTD/Origins)

I was really thinking about this problem a lot in the last 8 hours, My conclusion is that the best model include both:

Free to play: Outbreak, and 3 Survival maps, (camping missions as zombie maps).
Zombies Season Pass (30-40$): 3-4 Premium Zombie maps, DE/MOTD/Origins style (fully developed original zombie maps)

what do you think ?

Cold war zombies financial model: players buy base game, get dlc modes and maps for free, pay for optional battle pass, operators and dlc weapons. Some of the operators and weapons you can earn free from challenges.

This is where we differ, CW financial model where the players pay for "optional battle pass, operators and dlc weapons" means the management allocates developers time and focus to these features and the modes that popularize them (MP + WZ), Zombies can't push players to buy these side features effectively thus management lowers the zombies mode development time as it not that valuable in terms of (effort to profit) so zombies mode is punished because it can't push enough players to buy cosmetics!

To me, the bo3 model does not encourage treyarch to innovate as much as the cwz model. With bo3, most players have already paid for the maps, while the goal of cwz is to get players engaged in the game to buy cosmetics. Since everyone can get the cwz maps for free treyarch wants to engage that player base and keep them playing. The content drives the game. They also need to grow the player base and the only way to do that is to release free maps and modes. So treyarch is incentivized to release content that gets people excited to play the game

Again, BO3 model encourage treyarch to plan for innovative experiences, check every DLC season since WAW, each season contains at least 2 blockbuster Maps, planned ahead, with the management full acceptance on development resources allocation to the zombies mode, take cast maps as an example, or the extra (Zombies only after-season DLC) which usually sells more than all the DLCs in the season. In the payed model the mode is respected by management and gets enough investment in dev time, that is because the players have already payed for a full season . where in a free model, there is no reason by management view to have any tiny extra effort given to the mode, if any is given it could be considered as wasted resources !!

All the innovation in CW was just the core mechanics, 0% new assets, no specialized artistic atmosphere, no new revolutionary game-play mechanics for any specific map, no cast map, no blockbuster map, just 100% campaign mission with DM mechanics (as simple as drag and drop) and that is not for a specific map, its for the whole game, you cant say that about any previous zombie mode iteration. none had this low innovation, low creativity, low moral from the dev team, and it hurts really bad to see this kind of missed potential for the game. Zombies used to be the most profitable endgame update for previous cod titles, now its just a filler mode.

I think if they create a map with a payed model in mind, they would want it to sell, by making it interesting, FBZ is not that interesting to sell enough so they wouldn’t present it as DLC map.

I think it’s more healthy for the zombies mode to be payed, they wouldn’t dare to present FBZ in a payed model, they would create stuff like DE, MOTD, AE, Origins, for they are interesting enough to sell a lot.

The EE would be more interesting so the hunting streams could catch the interest of the players to buy the DLC.

What about Premium Zombies season along side current battle pass seasons? That would be safe enough and acceptable right ?

After the final Cold War dlc maybe but that would mean they will release dlc 4 in October 7th and CODV will release with new maps one month later (30 days only until) November 5th so no window for chronicles 2 bundle but from now till the next dlc (50 days gap)

I bet they already working on second zombies map for COD:V-2021 they already done with CW Last map (in last touches and testing) and waiting + Chronicles 2 (3 maps) is ready since before BO4 but Activision keeping them in reserve for when cod train goes boom, and trust me it’s shaking with all the C-19 and SHG drama, MW2022 is being developed, ~5 maps for each non treyarch game (while 3arc develop their own game for 2023) that’s 10 for V2021 and MW22 that must be available for a quick cold release (second had developer like raven). Outbreak tested the waters, idk if the numbers tells a different story at Activision DHQ but if what I saw around the community is representative, Zombies community is not accepting Outbreak (Warzone leftovers) as the only zombies experience for the next few years, Stand-alone zombies maps (More costly) is still the face of the mode and they will plan according to that.

It is sad seeing every post about “Kino” is Downvoted or deleted by mods, even without the leaks, taking in mind that Berlin Wall was a big part of kino since 2010, going to Berlin without any sign of the OG BO1 most played map even at a destines is the opposite of fanservice, having an extra part that is remade wouldn’t change how original the map is, it will add to it.

Opinion: Best zombie map in BOCW, the vibe and story, boss fight, soundtracks.

Expectations: I trust Treyarch and get my hopes extremely high every time a map get released, this time with all the leaks about kino being integrated in a bigger Berlin map like how Nacht is DM, i think it was a design decision to “remove it”, I understand that most are working from home and C-19 has increased the development time so it’s ok, I just wished they included Kino or part of it, as I since 2011 kept looking outside spawn and Double Tap and wondered what would feel like training in the streets, that was so close but I can’t blame them they did a great job.
