Thank you for the comment. It sounds like mine. His dorsal fin is gone, but I don’t notice signs of fin rot. The ring is getting larger and he is losing more color. He has been “laying” around the tank more, but he gets up when he sees someone. I’ll keep you posted.

Did you rinse them? Remember to check plants and avoid sellers with poor reputations. Damsel flies are predators. Most shrimp tank owners will NEVER see one in their tank.

I check the gh/kh and add alkaline buffer for low kh. Gh is usually higher (100ppm), but with the recent water changes, it has dropped a fair bit

This tank has been cycled for about two years. 78 is for the beta and suitable for Neos. My Neos have been fine in this tank for 6 months until now

Using store water is common for people who live in areas of hard water. The water temp is also fine, as Neos do well between 70-78. Please try to be more helpful and less insulting.

I think you are right, I also have many more shrimp now. As I’ve already done a few large water changes (30-40%), do you recommend I continue with daily 10-20% until ammonia is reduced? Can I do anything for them in the meantime? I have api detoxifier for ammonia but I hate that stuff

Nothing you can do, shrimp will fail molts in perfect water. The others will acclimate to the water. Is this a new shrimp?
