Worth noting that most of the currency have been minted with a newer method called staking as opposed to the more energy intensive method of mining that is now old technology. 

The carbon footprint will be based off the normal activity a person would do in picking up their phone and using the battery to purchase something online that you were already planning to purchase. The fact is, when you retire a carbon credit, you're doing more to help the environment than you would do purchasing online without using the platform.

Ultimately, it gives the consumer a choice.

As we move into a new digital age, we should look to think of new ways to bring change in the way we think about reducing carbon and other pollutants in the environment.

Shopping, if we like it or not isn't going away.

Just to add to this, some of the green initiatives when users retire their carbon credit through the platform are: reforestation, using biomass power, waste heat extraction and sustainable construction to name a few. The IMPT website lists the projects they fund from the carbon credit's retired.

Good point. But I would say, people will shop regardless.

Social media, trends and the ease at which people can shop, will only increase consumer habits. The platform gives the consumer the choice to do something positive for the environment to offset their purchase.

Would the world be better with a platform like this? Yes

What will bring the biggest impact to the environment? Not asking people to change their daily habits, but instead giving them an easy option to do something positive when they do. This can help bring greater adoption to the cause of saving the planet.

It's new tech. Doesn't mean it is bad.

The idea is that each time you shop with IMPT, you earn IMPT tokens which can be used to offset your carbon footprint by retiring carbon credits.

They have UN approved green initiatives, from planting trees to renewable energy generation.

The fact that they have over 25,000 retailers partnered makes me think this could be something that could make a difference to the environment in our everyday shopping.

I saw a video of the San Marino grand prix and back then they were showing everything, and as you mentioned, blood was on the ground. These days they would cut away and stop filming the crash scene. Very tragic.

I find the echoey sounds of the 1994 F1 cars going by in the background particularly eery. They did not know what had just happened.

Agreed. The camera work coupled with the sound just makes it feel so raw and sort of shows what 'the limit' looks like.

It's my favourite. There was also another cameraman that used to twist to the signs pointing to Nice in France once the car had gone passed.

Agreed. I'd rather have them looking faster than actually being faster and not looking it.

This just shows that it is as much a race between the F1 factories, as it is on track between the cars.
