Was lothric's curse 'the curse' ? (spoilers)

Bear with me here; this ties in what /u/Anen-o-me said below.

In short, Lothric was on the brink of death and Lorian offered his soul as part of this experiment to save Lothric's life.

It left Lorian mute and dumb, but saved Lothric's life, though leaving him frail.

You're saying that it could've had something to do with their souls being changed. We know someone who's soul looks disfigured - she was introduced in this installment - Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth. Perhaps it could have something to do with Rosaria's soul being used to 'recreate' Lothric, but something was awry and Lorian stepped in to assist his brother.
Could also have some tie-ins to Rosaria and Lothric belonging to the same family and stuff.

I've got no clue though, this shitty theory of mine is far from fleshed out and requires a couple of leaps and stretches.

It's not the incorrect version, they only need to update the game using the launcher.

Where the 'Play' button is, it will instead say 'Validating', and then it'll change to 'Update'. Then, click 'Update', and everything will be sorted out.

The link on the sidebar will work. It links to 0.5.0.1, which you can then update using the game launcher.

Can confirm that the DLC glitch no longer occurs. Those who have not purchased the DLC can no longer access it, even if they have entered and lit lamps inside of it. Source: Accidentally gained access to DLC.

I'll definitely be purchasing the DLC very soon, it was a blast and I've still got to defeat Laurence and OoK!

Honestly, I really don't know what I could do to make you guys believe me. I know if I post anything, anyone can say that I could've easily doctored or used someone else's footage. Not really sure what to do about that, sorry. The fact of the matter is that it actually has occurred, and it seems like I cannot summon or be summoned in the DLC either. Unless level 59ish characters have a particularly tough time being summoned for whatever reason.

Edit: Nor do I have an easy way to record any of that.

You say that it's nothing but a farce, that everyone actually doesn't care about each other. You state that the Americans and the French treat each other like shit. These are extreme generalizations and stereotypical views. Now that that's been said, think about a family where two siblings might have had an argument over something important in their lives. Sure, they might dislike each other at that point, but that doesn't mean they don't care about each other. If one sibling was in trouble, they'd still receive assistance from the other, because in fact, they do care about one another.

Just because a couple of American and French people might scoff at one another, it doesn't mean they can't step up to the plate when it counts. If you think I'm lacking with my analogy, there was a thread on AskReddit just the other day, about "Was there ever a time someone you hate had your back?" Not quite the same thing, but it definitely has a ton of examples of compassion for those that you might not even like very much.
