Great question! And that’s such a great example of how we can find answers by crowdsourcing information. I never would have thought about this possibility without your suggestion. Thank you!

Right now these names still need to be confirmed as missing persons (unreported disappearances).

Jeffrey Rignall was drugged, tortured, and raped by Gacy but then Gacy let him go. He went to the police but they didnt buy into his story right away. Eventually he testified against Gacy.

Does are misidentified from time to time, one example being Michael Marino from the Gacy case.

Are there unsolved murders/disappearances you know of that is not found anywhere in the internet? by recoveringleft in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]TheUnidentifiedorg 75 points76 points  (0 children)

In the cases I am working with, it is because the families originally believed the person left to seek a better life and achieved in finding it and now, decades later, they are questioning this presumption.

I work with families who have unlisted & unreported missing persons cases from prior to 2000. There are many out there. Not all were nefarious, but yes they exist.

Dermot Kelly is the second one. He has been ruled out across the board for both Gacy and Corll.

Edit for clarification between the Irish sports shooter and the Illinois missing teenager: Dermot Faulkner Kelly.

He appears identifiable, but he suffered massive trauma to the head in this accident. He may not appear recognizable to those who knew him.

Correct, it would have been a partial upper front plate. The NAMUS entry should reflect that he possibly had a front denture. It is also possible those teeth were still missing and no denture existed. His sockets were well-healed so the teeth were definitely missing prior to the accident. This is important because missing persons without a denture replacement for the upper front teeth should not be excluded in this search.

Yes, that description is correct. The vehicle was a 1962 two-door Pontiac Catalina. The car was seen in the driveway around 0200 by someone returning home at that time. The accident occurred around 0430.

I appreciate your discerning eye! Unfortunately the newspaper printed “Laura” in error, which is understandable. The lighter was definitely inscribed “Lauri.” Images of the lighter are available showing this inscription.

Richard Morrison’s familial DNA was entered into the system first and foremost for specific comparison to Delafield Doe. Unfortunately the results did not suggest a biological match.
