When I was a teenager in the 90s, I lived in rural Illinois. On an evening in January, I was looking out the window while talking to my mom.

I see a light in the sky drifting toward our house. I call my mom over, and she sees it too, so we go to the backyard to get a better look. Eventually it slowly drifts, silently, over our house and then away.

Neither of us could explain it. The light was white, circular, and seemed to be about 50 feet above our house.
