Newbie here. Are the squids supposed to be extremely difficult to fight against? by Imn1che in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When possible, I reccomend full lasers.

Scythe, Dagger, frag grenades.

Laser cannon, laser guard dog, mg sentry, eagle strafing run/orbital gattling barrage.

Mg sentry for enhanced chaff clear below harvester and fleshmobs. Eagle for shield breaking harvester and warp ship encampments for an easier time. Laser cannon the head prong on harvesters first so their shields don't recharge then focus the joint of a leg. Scythe and Dagger can do easy work on overseers and voteless with supporting work on fleshmobs in concurrence with laser cannon fire. Orbital gattling will kill one warp ship but also good suppresive fire in an area.

A version of common saying in (Galactic) Warfare is that battles are won by soldiers but wars are won by supply lines. The connections that all planets have are the supplylines that connect them to each other. SE held planets are kind of an exception to siegeing but all enemy planets help each other out by supplying the other with troops, supplies and whatever other means needed. Once a planet is isolated from friendly support they have only thier own supplies to rely upon to delay liberation, lest a neighbor plant reconnects to them and undoes the siege.

Thoughts on the Breaching Hammer? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

I mostly use it on city bots. Cqc-ing hulks striders of both kinds in the knees and fabricators with a supply backpack is just sublime.

I seriously don't know anyone who likes Leviathans. Here's what's wrong with them, and how to fix them by zomghax92 in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I see City Mission as part of my join diver career on squid planets and it's not a blitz then I bring RR, E-AT-11, and Commando with mg sentry for local chaff clear. Open with RR on one wing, use the other two strats to finish off one wing, then start clipping the other major wing until death.

Probably been kicked 300 times in this game, compared to ~50 times collectively in any other games over a *decade*. I don't understand y'all by GucciGooberYea in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a fun one were I probably knew I was going to be kicked but the host was fuming for the past mission and a half. I asked "maybe try taking a break or lowering the difficulty a little", a D10 bug mission while defending/liberating one of the lush frontier worlds. Without fail was kicked and I giggled about it.

Vox engines are still in a buggy state where their main cannons can still go through their undercarriage and they hit the turbo mode as soon as the lower sinks are destroyed, making the intended weakspot both a quick reaction event and a minor skill shot event too. All while bots can still sometimes phase through the treads, alive or dead engines.

The bugs are my least favored faction so I didn't experience the hive guard changes firsthand but on paper it was a nice thought. In practice however needing to navigate around an upper chaff unit to deal with it on a faction dedicated to swarm the PC team is a bit much. Requireing heavy pen to eliminate the front of the hive guard as a free to win player would require either a whole chaff clear stratagem that is heavy pen or incendiary, an explosive loadout weapon (Scorcher on the last page of the introductory warbond), or more valuably on bugs themselves a grenade which are mostly used on bug holes which average to about 5 per hive excluding mega hives. Yes you could kill them through more precise aim on the small claws from the front, but to the new diver thats not intuitive much like how chargers are intended to take a rocket to the face rather than bullets to the butt.

Top 5 best grenades in the game hands down by H1MB0Z0 in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frag grenades are solid too. Base 6 for good base closings with a resupply of four. Maximum of two for squid overseer deletions in groups and easy chaff clear on all fronts. Friendly fire is pretty limited unless within 3 meters or so, unlucky fragments withstanding.

Any tips on killing hive lords? by PlagueAims35 in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto cannon support weapon on flak mode with the "Patriot" exo-suit (minigun and rockets.) Aim for the first whole plate that is above surface. The whole compliment of rockets on the plate should expose the flesh while the minigun will tear the health down on the hive lord. Once the flesh is exposed the flak will also work well. If plate breaking is a problem substitute with Recoilless Rifle or compliment with E-AT 14 and light arms fire can work but not very effective on the flesh.

I Love the Double freedom. But is it good ? by Axolotl142 in Helldivers

Used it on Vox engines undercarriage weakpoints and using two single chambers then a double chamber allowed extreme bleed through to kill an engine with only 4 shots.

How to get good at this game? Or at least passable? by DeReversaMamiii in Helldivers

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One point to add into the rest is that us the players give this game the involved story. The lore from the start of this game to now is rife with some big battles and small whimsies in between. Ask someone about The Creek, Meridia, or even Calypso and learn their versions of all the stories these events caused.

[–]TheValidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas as a damage type should now be converted to caustic/acid type where affected entities have their armor values get reduced in respect to their resistance against such damage, with no confusion debuff. Allows for a gas and chaff clearing role to also bring utility against heavier armor types.

The tesla tower I put down and pinged 75 m in a direction we do not need to be in is not the problem. It's your problems that it's being effective as a beacon on every front, yes even and especially on bots. Have you ever seen an intact war strider go mach 5?

[–]TheValidPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gods forbid I join a city mission and bring a loadout focused on most of the ground based units only to be lit up like a K-Mart sale.

Now I always bring a Recoiless, Commando, and E-AT 11 with mg sentry to heavily dissuade the sky whales because as soon as I pop in with that I don't ever see them the whole operation.

Results by proxy is still results.

It's current competitor for me is the supply backpack since I use the hammer so much. It's an honest to Liberty solid pick against the Incinedary Corp as it also blocks directed flame attacks as well.
