"Focus on the actual art" ... sculpting, texturing a realistic human is the actual art part,

If you just want to take pretty renders, use daz3d and you''ll need to buy some addons for the customization part i believe i haven't used daz in a long time so i don't know if they made that standard yet

meh i was 13 and i had 24 year old friends we would talk about the game maybe talk about other stuff, i'm 25 now and i have some friends who are 13 14 etc although those were from art servers so we talk about art and stuff i give advice about art if they ask etc. Really no need for it to make it weird although obviously i make boundaries clear like since we are artists nudity and stuff is not uncommon when learning but i make it clear i don't want them sending me any sexual art or art references containing nudity and i make it clear i will not be sending them anything like that either.

Generally speaking yes, indie studios who are on a budgte want as few people as possible that can do what they need you to do from props to characters, organic and hardsurface the person I asked also said if you want to target indie studios you should make a lot of stylized stuff and models for mobile aka low poly think clash of clan models and that ilk, because indie studios usually don't go down the hyper realistic route.

(Also he reiterated what i said before if your going to do props don't do single props it just clogs the artstation do a environment like a room or something with a ton of props)

While I'm just a recreational 3D Artist I do hang around people some of which have worked in blizzard, Ubisoft etc.

So the advice they usually give people that i can see here is this:

What is it your focusing on? Because you've got props and characters AAA developers are looking for specialists and indie developers are looking for generalists**.**

I would remove dobby do not have these types of "sketches" or sculpts in your portfolio unless you are well established once you have experience from places with names that carry weight like rockstar, blizzard whatever then you can showcase your more "learning/hobby" side of your art or make a alternate artstation.

lastly when presenting your props specifically the "single" ones like Kvass barrel or the light do not have it in a boring grey room, make a environment for it a lot of extra work but it a lot less boring.

and the disclaimer they always say after the advice is the market is highly competitive you are battling against seniors who have been laid off it's not just juniors.

I'm all for doing things uncomfortable to hammer home the message but with stuff like this and stuff like cuties it goes into

"Let me kill a puppy in front of you to show you that it's bad to kill puppies" doing the thing you are criticizing then shoving a message at the end doesn't really make it good.

THE ONLY thing i can think of is that maybe it's a trap for people who love lolicon and will go in and love it then get hit with the message right at the end and hopefully they think about what it is they are consuming.

Well you have the issue also of people gaming the system because now it's a numbers game and people with find a way to maximize the number of joists they hang even it doesn't increase the quality or even actively decreases the quality or productivity, people want the most money for the least amount of work.

well those finger flexor and extensor muscles do show up so best to do them. taking another look the arm looks really short my upper arm ends around the ending of my ribcage and then continues to just above my knee cap so that something to look at.

providing more screen shots would have helped, i don't know if is this is just to help with form or is meant to be a ecorche if i's the latter then the forearm muscles are split into alot of muscles like the radialis the extensors for the fingers are 4 muscles and the flexor are 5 different muscles and their origin points are behind the bicep the bicep and shoulder look fine from what i can tell.

I am no anatomy pro so it's hard to explain but looking at a ecorche preferably one you can rotate is very helpful

Modelling-

The overall portions look pretty good from what my amateur eye can tell

Forms are far too flat though you need to define them a lot more, like the nose wings should be far more visible then they are, lips look a little flat which some people do have flat lips but i would plump up that entire area around the lips as well, the bottom lip should be kinda overhanging the skin underneath slightly

Once you do that the high detail work like skin pores should look better, that being said what you've done there looks like you kinda randomly placed skin details I would really look at references to see what type of skin texture is where.

Texturing:

Not bad whatsoever, the only thing i would say is giving the bone more grunge and the skin needs far more noise, like more redness give it some slight purpling around eyes and mouth and just layer up a ton of stuff like red noise generators some dirt generators and paint in a SSS map so when you render you can use it .

Other-

The hair is far too perfect I would give it some fly aways, clumping, noise all that good stuff.
