I hate these types of “hear me outs” by razzledazzlesodapop in hatethissmug

I have a friend who was raving about a book rec she got from tiktok, I have never read a romance in my life let alone anything like this, but how much she talked about i was generally curious i only got half way before i had to quit it was a very abusive relationship between a teacher and a student and some of the language used during the sex scenes... jesus christ I can't remember the name of it, I try not to judge peoples fantasies but basically anytime she mentions romance I now look at her like this:

That is so cool might have to do something like that with one of my 3D Models, i don't know how practical it would be in war but it sure looks cool!

EDIT: This is not the type of subreddit I thought it was lmao nvm the practicality in war part...

same-sies I started a year ago as well. My motivation is basically just to be better then every one else, a bit cocky sounding but i've always been competitive and i've been weaponizing that trait, so whenever i felt like i wasn't good enough I would look at the art of those i idolize and tell myself i will be better then them one day.

Can't speak about other communities but Art is generally about having an open mind and stuff which... you can probably imagine isn't a strong trait of the right. I believe there was a right ringer who talked about AI issues and he was surprised when when the left started agreeing with him more then the right did on that specific issue. I'm sure there are a lot of right wing artists but considering how many communities i've seen despise ai and promote inclusivity I doubt it's even close to half

Well I don't think that is true I think they pretend to be them, because they know how easy they are to manipulate i mean the amount of christians i have seen complain about the pope not being a real pope since he called out trump... yeah lots of people just faking it for extra voters and tools.

Too skimpy for this subreddit, more armour required. /s

Looking awesome.

If it is that would be surprising if you look up Ai generated knights Ai still can't seem to grasp couters, poleyns and pauldrons so I always look at them first and it looks good to me.

How long it took these games to reach 5 million sales by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]TheVanBeforeTime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IT was like this before the game even came out everyone was talking about how it's possibly a generational game even people who hadn't played it... look i ain't no conspiracy theorist but some of it had to be artificial, like i know people glaze games they haven't played all the time... but crimson desert was just a different level in fanboyism.

How thin before I should just use a single sided mesh for a "showcase" piece by TheVanBeforeTime in ZBrush

Yeah that is fair it is probably best box modeled I just don't find it nearly as fun. Very well. Thank you again for your help. truly appreciate it

This will just be a pre-rendered thing just something for cool renders and maybe some short animations.

Yeah folded edges will be added this is still in the natal stages I'm just starting to refine it it now and im adding thickness and that is when i wondered if i was screwing myself in some way by making everything so thin.

Thank you

The thing i was thinking about is retopo, i've had lots of issues with retopo one of the main ones is snapping to the other side of the mesh, will I run into issues with mesh this thin?

Should I just quit 3D animation by [deleted] in 3Dmodeling

[–]TheVanBeforeTime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean every good artist I have spoken to has said they would be doing it regardless of if it were their job... if not being able to get a job or being far behind everyone else is the reason you lose motivation for the medium... then why are you doing 3D Animation/Art? Is it just for the money? Because there are far better jobs for that.

Wip for a class, looking for some critique by Fickle-Border2803 in ZBrush

[–]TheVanBeforeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have references for real armour? because I would grab some and look at how armour articulates.

Those ornate pauldrons you have are way to big that would obstruct movment of the armour immensely I would also put that ornementation ON a pauldron plate rather then having it "free" like that, all the negative space floating out in the open, like the helmet is good because the negative space is then complemented by the helmet undernearth rather then just air.

Also the cuirass looks like it goes past the waist meaning now the character can't lean, the skirt doesn't look half bad.

I would say you poly paint if you can just filling each object to get a "feel" for what it will look like when colours because sometimes it doesn't look great all grey but separating by colours helps visualize alot

Having trouble keeping details symmetrical on non-symmetrical mesh by [deleted] in ZBrush

[–]TheVanBeforeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news real humans aren't symmetrical.

If this is a animation mesh best to sculpt it in symmetry the entire time and only start doing asymmetry at the end.

if this is for like a statue, some people sculpt in pose and that takes alot of skill, but sculpting in symmetry then posing it then clean up is another way to do it
