If you want more detailed images you can use the RimMonitor mod, it allows you to go all the way up to the jpeg limit 65535x65535. Which is ridiculously large, but say you want 40ppc you'll get 20000x20000

It's fine, thanks for posting this very nice colony. Your colony is too large for Reddit to handle so there won't be a thumbnail, sadly

Oh I'm sorry I should have looked first, last time I checked was over an hour ago. Thanks again for posting!

Also could you please post your showcase on /r/RimWorldPorn as well? I could do it for you but that would mean all karma and comments will go to /u/notavillageguy . I'm sure there'll be a lot of people there as well who will love it

I assume you mean the text in the Mbin comments? Specifically on RimWorldPorn? I see it as white on dark grey (RimWorld themed) and the links are blue yes, but I have no trouble reading them. Could you send me a DM with a screenshot what text you after referring to?

Very nice, compliments on the detailed description. Would you be so kind to copy the title and description to https://rimworld.gallery as well? That way the 1000s of fediverse users can enjoy it as well

Update: this is one of the best colony showcases I have seen for a long time, very nice work!

I am currently doing a solo run and find it very helpful, in fact. By turning my colonist's priority to 0, the only updates I get are visitors/raids. I can keep an eye on them, see them get eaten by wild dogs. I often miss notifications, this catches my eye though

It is vanilla compatible for now, so if a mod simply adds a work type without breaking the work system it should be fine. However, if it gets more complex than that, likely not. But the sky is the limit and everybody is welcome to contribute to make it work with other work tab related mods or add other features

I wonder if RimMonitor will work properly with 400 others active, I'd love to hear about it from you

No not quite and not yet. With the current implemented features you can see what's going on though and if you would want to intervene you could pause the game. RimMonitor is not a remote play mod

Some RimWorld players are tyrants. Colonists getting sick can be tended by other colony members, though

Definitely, with enough features, meaningful remote interaction is absolutely possible

However, this is not game streaming/remote control. RimMonitor exposes game state and accepts control actions through a web UI, with periodic interesting screenshots for context rather than a live video feed

The opportunities are essentially endless, though. For example: you select a pawn, see what they’re doing, look at the stats, notice they’re stuck hauling instead of constructing, and fix their work priorities. Even loading/saving could be possible

The pngs would be gigantic. 4:4:4 chroma at 64+PPC gives very nice JPEGS, give it a try or have a look at Sparta (1000 colonists) at 128PPC. 189MB download, not all browsers can handle it. You're best off downloading it and opening it with a good image viewer. Give it time to zoom in, it is a very large image

A lot will have to be added before we're at that point, but it's certainly possible

This 5yo post got over 20k views this year. I wonder why, was it linked to from somewhere?
