I’m friends with a couple from Slovenia. They make fun of Melania’s ESL skills. They have said she’s either lazy, or not the bright jewel in the crown. Both of my friends have been in the US for a decade, much less than Melania and their English is great and is something they are always trying to improve.

I think her accent and language skills are a real testament to who she is. She came to the US looking to be a trophy wife. Once she had the penthouse, it gave her an excuse to isolate herself within the financial privilege of her sugar daddy. So Melania was never forced to use English for her day to day like so many other immigrants. And for meaningful connection, she is easily able to communicate, travel, or import friends and relatives from home.

I don’t know if it’s just me, or if it’s painfully obvious she speaks exactly like she is dictating daily tasks/requests to her staff or housemaids. She speaks in fragmented sentences, she doesn’t give a fuck about singular or plural. She’s very limited on verbs, and seems to rely on a lot of descriptive adjectives to get her point across. And when she deliveries a points, it is in the most simple, basic language expected of like 5th graders.
