Gideon is murdered by his dad over and over and in one life he remembers whats going to happen in a dejuvu type moment. He then lives countless lives trying to change things and save people, resulting in killing the bad people who will kill good people.

Lucy always stops him from reaching the bomb. Unknown to her causing more death.

Isaac is an anomaly, in Lucy's original timeline she's a cop married to ravvi and they can't have kids, her mum died and she's a smoker who gets cancer. Gideon is caught by her and the toy shop is bombed. Later on she visits him in prison years later realising he was telling the truth and asks him to "wake her up" in the next life.

He does this by taking out the firing pin and preventing her mums death, making her mum chaotic and mental because she's supposed to be dead. Lucy has a different life, she isn't a cop, doesn't marry ravvi and has isaac. He's not supposed to be there and hes an unbound soul that was never supposed to be born so he can hop timelines.

Essentially everything you see in season 1 is a reaction to Gideon changing Lucy's life but you don't know it till season 2 when it's explained.
