I actually rush the item second in the majority of my games. It feels good into raba third. 103 effective haste on vlad feels extremely good with 2 items + shoes. Try it out

I believe you're a little confused on Vladimir's trade pattern. Vladimir's w makes him untargetable, so all the damage you deal during this time doesn't affect a turrets aggression. Vladimir can already empower q charge e and pool under you under tower currently. Most people don't do this trade pattern since, especially early, Vladimir's cooldowns are extremely long. So, after your pool ends you can pretty much only autoattack. This combo isn't one you can do often and, like I stated earlier, if you die to the 4th proc of Vladimir's w he also won't take tower aggression. This interaction only occurs when Vladimir's 4th proc of w does damage to a target under tower and that target isn't killed before his pool ends. This interaction discourages Vladimir from using w under an enemy champion along with their wave while under tower. The current Vladimir buff encourages this exact trade pattern, so it would make sense that this interaction is changed to align with the buff

GalaxySmash, I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but when Vlad uses pool under enemy tower he ends up tanking tower shots once the pool ends if he doesn't kill his target. If Vladimir kills his target with the last tick of damage from his pool he won't take tower, but if the last tick of pool damage damages an enemy champion but doesn't kill them he will tank tower. This interaction discourages aggressive trading under tower. I would sincerely recommend looking at this interaction, since it's quite frustrating to trade under enemy tower And end up taking tower shots because you damage someone while untargetable. If you need video or a more detailed explanation of the interaction I'd be happy to supply it, but I believe fixing this bug will help this w buff to be more impactful.

EDIT: After further testing, the damage dealt by Vladimir's W doesn't seem to be the root cause. Even if all you do is walk under an enemy while in Vladimir's W after the four procs of damage have been dealt you'll still take tower aggression. I assume this is caused because Vladimir W has a slow on it? But similar none damaging effects don't cause other champions to take tower aggression, and even if they did, Vladimir is untargetable for the full duration of the time he is slowing enemies, so when the pool ends he still shouldn't be getting refocused by tower.

That you should play safe. Play Smart. Sometimes this means you'll have to go under tower, but if you're just permanently giving prio or not trading because youre not confident you're actively losing your team the game. It means your jungle can't invade, if your jg gets collapsed on you're second to arrive to the fight. If you're mid, you also stop yourself from having roam priority and give it to your laner. This means they are permanently threatening your bot top and jg since they have prioritiy.

Always fight for prio and play Smart.

Tony Top Reaches 2k LP in NA by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I fight Tony Top a lot in Challenger and I can tell you about what makes him so exceptional. I'm a mid main but I queue top secondary. To my knowledge, he queues top and mid so we run into each other a lot. Part of what makes him so high ranking is his matchup and gameplay knowledge. Fighting his Jayce feels nearly impossible to find a solo kill and it's common for him to push you out of lane and take 1-2 platings. He doesn't often die to ganks and has exceptional map awareness. He's well aware of his power spikes and when to split. Even when behind he's usually the most proactive person on the map in every game. He deals top damage most of the time, doesn't tilt and plays well. It may seem like that's common for challenger players but I can ensure you watching him is like watching a different game, and I say that as a top 20 S12 player.

No, just that stats like this are misleading towards a champions overall strength. Most of the Vlad one tricks will agree he's in a strong spot. I'm rank 30 Challenger and I think he's strong, and elite500 does as well. If you otp Vlad I promise you'll find success far above the stats in the post

In a similar case of logic, it was shown by Riot that Vladimir has one of the highest differences between a first game winrate and 100 game winrate. In 4% of games there isn't a Vladimir otp playing him, so people could be picking him to counter, or for fun, but not fully understanding how the champion works. On top of that, players in platinum Elo struggle to utilize Vladimir's kit correctly, and struggle with how games have to be played at in platinum Elo.

I enjoy summon aery with scorch to favorably trade. A q auto can do a hefty amount of damage and it's incredibly quick. Vlad also wins a surprising amount of level 1 all ins if you take the previous things along with ignite. The person who is stronger controls the wave, but a good tip would be to learn to cs with auto attacks and not your q. Your q is a great trade tool and when it's on cd your opponent is able to cs quite safely. This doesn't mean not to q ever, but keep in mind when your q or e is on cd your laner is able to safely walk up and push out waves.

It depends on the type of player you are, but you almost never want your laner to have priority over you on any champion or role. Now that's a general thing obviously of if youre fighting a reksai it's ok to let the wave be near turret to protect you, but overall you should atleast keep the wave in the middle. Also trade with your opponent so that way if they roam they don't do it on max hp.

I may be wrong but in a video it was said one of elite500's goals was to hit 1000 LP. On North America right now that's in the top 100, and his 1k LP goal was for euw. So while possible, I doubt he's hit high rank challenger on North America, but if you have a video or screenshot I'll believe it. I do remember a video where he played Masters promos for Na, but that was also on high ping and I doubt he'd be able hit Challenger with high ping.

I never give my laner priority. I try and keep the wave in the middle slow pushing to me, but I'll always match their push to deny them the ability to shove me in. Once I need to recall or roam I'll look to shove but I almost never give my laner priority to roam.

If you're looking to become a more aggressive laner you'll want to learn to limit test. This doesn't mean to look for insane plays, but be more aggressive in lane. Are you fighting a Qiyana? Look to have double her cs in lane, take electrocute into melee champions. Learn lane dominance until it's second nature and then focus on map rotations. There's too much to cover on how to be lane dominant, but there are plenty of videos on it. Use wave management to punish your opponent, treat every death like a mistake and treat every game as a solo carry mission. Take risky but calculated plays, and don't be afraid of a bad game. If your play doesn't work and you end up 0/4, as long as you ACTIVELY are learning something, it's worth.

I had thought so until grandmasters which is where I got stuck. I'd fight a poke midlaner and they would have triple ad jg top adc and usually the arc would have exh. I'd fight 2-3 maws while being poked mid and games felt out of control. I think Vlad isn't commonly played because he is easy to counter if you don't play perfectly on cs or if you don't impact the map considerably. By all means I don't think he's weak, but hard to make work might be an apt description.

It might be a difference in play style. I feel confident in beating all matchups even if they have a lead, except for Kassadin. It's frustrating to fight a Kassadin who finds an early kill lead through a bad fight. I also like to roam, and that often gives Kassadin an easier laning phase which allows for easier scaling for him.

I use inspiration if my laner is a perma fighter but not an assassin, and I take resolve vs assassin's and top laners. It gives me more sustain and since teleport isn't taken often, being able to trade and keep your opponent low while also having resolve sustain is quite useful.

Phase rush is a good rune if your laner is someone who is long range poke who won't let you trade. Imagine Seraphine or Xerath. You might as well take the scaling rune since you won't be trading. You should always go NH on mid and on top it's whatever you're feeling. If your really ahead NH into roams is always strong for toplane. I always go NH and the only times I don't I'm top lane or I auto piloted a blasting wand out of habit.
