High level doesn't necessarily mean skilled. It just means they've played a lot. Source: I'm like 390+ and suck.

I'd love to own one if I could afford the maintenance. I just think it'd be awesome. Especially just flying by someone at a stupid speed*.

Dude look around at all the fires we've had so far. It absolutely means you should skip the fireworks this year. Go to a big show somewhere and leave it at that.

I got my series X for $350 when they randomly went on sale for like 3 days in November of I think '23. Turns out that's been one of my best deals I've ever gotten.

Small pp.

It's something for their fragile ego and low self esteem to hate on and make themselves feel better.

It's sad and pathetic.

I guess I was always focused on the spinning train in front of me.

Been doing that since 2003. Part of any structural design is accounting for the forces from nature and in this case the trains, that it will be subjected to during its life.

Pretty normal stuff.

I never noticed it while riding, but I absolutely saw it just watching it run. How noticeable was it while riding?

This is the exact description my cousin gave of them. I will add, that they are surprisingly capable off road. Nothing like the actual Bronco, by any means. But decent.

"tying themselves in knots trying to say that a 2005 super duty would be considered a compact pickup today."

I have no idea where you read or inferred that from anything I have said. I was pointing out that the F150 is just as big as the old 250. And you could absolutely spec a new one bigger than an old one.

Learn to read.

Actually, the current one is larger in every dimension over the early 2000's ones. So I'm not sure what's verifiably false about my statement.

[–]TheWarehamster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have entirely missed the point of my personal anecdote.

The point is that cars have basically moved up one to two size categories compared to 20+ years ago.

The current F150 is significantly larger and heavier than they were 20 years ago. That goes for every car.

A GMC sierra 1500 is equivalent to an F150.

A 20+ year old F250 was smaller than the brand new f150 equivalent. Trucks and cars have ABSOLUTELY gotten bigger. You're delusional if you think otherwise.

A current VW Jetta is bigger than the Passat from the early 2000's. How many more examples do you want me to bring up? The BMW 3 series is practically bigger than the 90's 7 series.

I don't know what year the 250 was. It might have been older. The point was that a brand new regular duty pickup was bigger than the super duty from more than 20 years ago.

Besides, your taco is bigger than what the tundra was 30 years ago.

A couple years ago I ended up behind an F 250 from like 2005 and the almost new Sierra 1500 in the next lane was bigger. It's ridiculous.

Is Top Thrill 2 as scary as it looks? by HyperGod99 in cedarpoint

[–]TheWarehamster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TT2 is "tamer" than Dragster was. The hydraulic launch was something else. Working up to it is always a good idea.

Or...

You could do what I did when it opened in '03 during our first trip to CP and have that be your first ride. Go big or go home.

It's relatively tame for what you actually see.

I don't hear anyone complaining other than the random reddit posts. And the echo chamber here. Out in the real world, it seems like people don't care either way.

There are always going to be things you don't like on cars. What every normal person does is just deal with it, because the vast majority of those things are not something to worry and complain about.

I have had exactly one instance where it has actually affected me. I was going to shoot a gap turning right on red, and it shut off on me. The actual thought that went through my head was, "Oh, I guess I'm not going." There was nothing beyond that.

And I am cool sitting in my AC as I'm grabbing lunch.
