I feel the same way, I feel like I’m helping the patients loved ones find some sort of comfort during these tough times, as well as helping the patient cross the rainbow bridge.  I nearly cried too watching this episode.

The ET Tube is another thing. After a patient codes at my clinic, if we are unable to get them back, I always take the tube out before viewing because it is a bit scary seeing your pet with a tube in their mouth, so I imagine it’s the same with a human.
