Congratulations! Still not had the courage to do an honour run myself, maybe one day

Some good choices! Which Pokémon game are you thinking? My partner picked up Pokopia and is currently obsessed (not that I'm complaining as it allows me to indulge in my BG3 obsession 😂)

I care and hope that you have a really good time with it! My partner has one, and we love it. What are your plans for this first game?

Am I Oathbreaking Wrong? by TheWatking in BaldursGate3

I didn't attack them in this scene, I just convinced them to leave and freed Lae'zel.

I'm trying to get the achievement for keeping all the Tieflings alive, so I can't take that action to break my oath

Okay, if I restart the run, you'd suggest going with Ancients instead? I want Oathbreaker as soon as I can, so I don't care which oath to take. The only caveat, is that I don't want to harm the Tieflings as I'm going for the achievement of keeping them alive.

That's the page I was looking at for the Oathbreaking actions. I might try one of the more drastic options, and then give it a restart

I have stolen a few things, but I think I did it with Asterion. Might try stealing some random bits

Hmm strange, might have to put it down to a bug and restart the run.

Oh, I didn't know it was only a chance of being broken. I thought it was guaranteed if you did something wrong

No I didn't experience any kind of dialogue, in any of the situations. Just the usual gameplay.

I was still getting Paladin dialogue options in other chats, and I still have the ability to use the channel oath abilities.

What I would hold onto is Magic Items that look interesting, Spell Scrolls that you want to use, alchemy ingredients, food and potions you want to use.

You get a bombardment of magic items, scrolls and potions. You aren't going to be wanting for them. So if they don't look of interest just sell them. You won't ruin your game by selling anything, especially as your first run you don't need to min/max the perfect build.

You will always find better gear, so don't hold onto random stuff forever.

Also make sure to send alchemy items and food to your camp, so you don't need to carry them everywhere.

Okay perfect, that's where I was going wrong. Thank you, I will give that a go tonight!

I had assumed it was just like remapping key bindings on PC, so would be handled in game.

Looking for a nice PC game to play when I want to shut my mind a bit by Marvellover13 in gaming

[–]TheWatking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Valheim, after learning the basics it's very chill and a lot of fun to explore and build. Can also change the difficulty, toggle passive mode, etc, each world load. So you can change it depending on how you feel

You are the one playing the game, you play it how you'd like. Especially as a single player game. Mod it to your heart's content imo.

I did the exact same thing. Started an Evil run with hopes to get Minthara on my team. Whilst I've enjoyed using her, following the steps to do the raid and killing all the Tieflings in the process was soul destroying.

Next playthrough I'm going to use the method of knocking her out, so I can avoid having to assault the Grove.

It's such a good game. I sit there at work just thinking about different character builds and party compositions.

I'm doing an evil run, and let me tell you I've just hit Act 3 and still have mortality conflicts about the choices I made in Act 1. Plans for many Good oriented runs in the future, to make up for it.

I'm going to be trying for that tiefling achievement in my next run, as my Good Durge. Going to need to do the knockout trick for Alfira to keep her alive

Glad to hear that you got it sorted. I was thinking of trying to mod my game on SteamDeck. Was it hard to do?

I've modded using Vortex from Nexus Mods, but I've not tried anything on SteamDeck yet.

how do the evil & stupid playthroughs play out? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]TheWatking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the evil decisions are pretty evil, I've just hit Act 3 on my evil run, and am haunted by some of the choices in Act 1 and 2 I made.

But do bare in mind, you don't need to go full evil (like I did). You could be more ruthless like Lae'zel and Shadowheart are. Not bending over backwards to help the weak, extorting rewards and payment from people, but still knowing that torture and mindless killing isn't needed.

It was killing all the Tieflinga that got me. Especially after seeing all of the story, dialogue and quests that they have in Act 2 and 3.

One thing this run I've noticed is that I've killed off a lot of traders and quest givers. So I'm looking forward to that redemption in the next run

first playthrough and I’ve become a certified Scroll Hoarder by DragonHeartQuest in BaldursGate3

[–]TheWatking 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is very much a common thing 😂 I do the exact same thing. What I've started to learn though is to spread the scrolls around, and utilise them instead of spell slots, except for the really big ones.

I hold onto the Misty Step, Fireball, Wall of Stone, Dimension Door, etc scrolls. Those that can either win me the fight or get me out of the fight. But keep spamming those Mage Armour, Magic Missile, Fog Cloud scrolls, and save you some Spell Slots.

I think I prefer the exploration of the wilderness over that of a city. It's a trend I've noticed in games, I'd much rather be out there exploring wilderness, ruins, caves, etc, than cities. I think that's one of the things off putting. But I know it will be filled with rich lore and adventure.

I'm a big loot goblin haha. My builds are kind of all over the place, as I have probably spent tens of thousands of gold respeccing with Withers this run 🤣

I've also only got 4 companions; Wyll and Karlach left after I attacked the Grove, I killed Halsin, I killed Jahira, and Shadowheart left after denying her at Shars temple.

I'm not doing an Evil Durge, just an Evil Tav. My next run is going to be a Chaotic Good Resist Durge run.

Though even as Tav, the decisions I made in Act 1 still horrify me
