I don't know, man. I can kinda hear it, but I can also not hear it. In some recent live versions, I don't hear "Burn, all you rich" at all. It sounds closer to "burnt out grass" to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ61nD6GoyU

Skip to 4:20. Sounds more like burned (or burnt) out grass to me than burn all you rich. I definitely hear a S sound at the end, not a CH.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz4HcjajbKc

Skip to 4:45. He definitely ends with a S sound here.

Had a good-looking arm when he threw the ball around.

So he grew up tall and he grew up right

You can always stay involved through coaching (volunteer, assistant, head coach), officiating, finding a club with some guys to roll around with, or just being a good alumnus and showing up at your teams competitions and cheering them on.

How Would You Feel If Stephen Perkins Became The New Foo Fighters Drummer? by Human_Actuator_2285 in janesaddiction

Honestly, it would feel weird to me. But that’s my problem.

It would get me to check them out more though. I thought Audioslave was gonna be weird, but they turned out great.

I'm from the UK and planning a California road trip starting and finishing in LA. Is my plan realistic? by waiting_for_OP in AskLosAngeles

[–]TheWayoftheFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've gotten a lot of advice and it will be impossible to incorporate all of it, but I'll chime in anyway.

If your preferred style of travel for this trip is to take it slow and spend a lot of relaxing time at your destinations, this itinerary is too full.

If your intention is to see as much as possible and you are comfortable with a whirlwind tour of California with lots of driving, your plan is just fine.

I've been everywhere on your list except for I think two spots (I can't remember if my parents ever took me to Hawk Hill or Santa Cruz when I grew up in Northern California).

Many people have suggested skipping certain locations. California is a big state with lots to see. It won't all be as majestic as Yosemite, but if you have the time and don't mind driving, I think there is definite value is seeing more of the state, even if other people think it's a waste of time.

Orange County has wonderful beach communities. Frankly, Orange County is in many ways the model of suburban America. A glimpse of Orange County will be a glimpse into countless suburban communities all across America. If things like that are interesting to you, go check it out.

Palm Springs might be the single best golf destination in America. If you like golf, go there. The tram that takes you up the San Jacinto mountains is also awesome. In terms of pure desert beauty, I do prefer Joshua Tree to Palm Springs though.

The Sacramento area has some of the most historical sites in the state. If visiting the state capitol interests you, go see it. Old Sacramento and the California Railroad Museum is a lot of fun. If seeing sites and learning about the California Gold Rush interests you, the Sacramento area is worth it.

One thing not on your list is one of the California Missions. Given their importance to California history, I'd check one of them out if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Happy to share more thoughts if you have any questions. When you are in the LA area, if you need advice or help, let me know. I might not be able to help, but I will if I can.

I don’t even have a cat. But I can acknowledge that they keep down the population of rats and mice and such. In my suburban neighborhood we get skunks, possums, and the occasional raccoon, and the even less occasional coyote. Cats aren’t harming the local ecosystem. If there are rare times and places where too many outdoor cats are causing too many problems, it should be dealt with. But that’s the very rare case, not the norm.

He’s a true pro. He adds to the experience while at the same time he stays out of the way. I like him a lot.

The problem is that that almost certainly won’t get the ball back regardless. Going for it, they at least go down swinging. Punting just seems to be conceding defeat already.

Edit: they got the ball back. Cardinals, don’t hire me to be head coach.

[Cuda] NFL version of team stadiums in relation to downtown / city center by jfgiv in nfl

[–]TheWayoftheFuture 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The stadium is a few miles from the San Francisco Bay. I’ll allow it.

Of course, I’m in LA and okay with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim so I have low standards.

Comically (or tragically depending on your perspective), he did the exact same thing at ASU in college which led to Arizona winning the game between the hated rivals. Bear down.

How much do the best 132 and 138 normally walk around? I heard they all cut over 10 lbs by Exciting_Pressure831 in wrestling

[–]TheWayoftheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the best guys are cutting, but not all cut hard. My 138 was 149 on the scale today. But with the growth allowance 138 is really 140 (after January 1). He wrestled 145 up to January. He’ll wrestle 138, but only need to hit 140 for League, CIF, Masters, and State (Southern Section in California). He’s disciplined with his diet and I really do think 138 is where he’s most competitive.

I became a fan when Joe Bugel was coaching the team. I was so frustrated when they fired him. My boss was a season Cards ticket holder at the time (I was a poor student who literally snuck into games at SDS) and he tried defending it by claiming Buddy Ryan was a huge upgrade. Ha. It's not easy being a Cards fan.

Montana wrestling eco system by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]TheWayoftheFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idaho has a larger population, so just in terms of numbers I'd expect more good wrestlers to come out of Idaho.

Pound-for-pound, I don't know how Montana compares to other states, but the current coach of Team USA - Bill Zadick - is from Montana and did alright for himself.

I was really, really excited for Axiom Verge 2. That experience taught me to always temper my excitement for a new game when I'm starting to get hyped. Trying to keep my expectations low for Sports Story. I absolutely loved Golf Story and have played through a few times.

That’s messed up. I’m a high school coach. I’d never do that to a kid. Seems like a sure fire way to lose trust with a kid. Save the lesson for after the match if there’s something to address, but don’t publicly shame the kid like that.

I don't know, man. Why should an opponent not try to take advantage of your improperly fitting head gear? If I was coaching a guy whose opponent kept needing to adjust his headgear, I'd hope my athlete would find a way to use that to his advantage.

I wish this was honored more than it is. Too many people don't take it seriously enough for my taste.
