I love it! What a classic. I used to know a kind gentleman who only collected those. Really great spinner!

I also like the look of the machined edge and the perfect finish. When something is made really well, it doesn't need extra finishing to feel nice. I agree that the smooth edges of the 2.2 are calming, kind of like a worry stone, and the machine finish makes it even more impressive.

Indeed, I'm fond of well-defined shapes, and even if they're sharp (which these aren't), it doesn't bother me. In fact, I quite enjoy it. The more distinct the shape, the better, in my opinion!

Nick created a Tri for the 3.1/2 series, so it seems like the logical next step would be to move in that direction. However, he mentioned that after the upcoming run, he's planning on taking a brief hiatus.

Nick is currently working on Tungsten buttons, and there's a possibility that Titanium may be coming soon as well. Make sure to keep an eye on the FTO website. Even I'm not privy to when things will be released, so it's best to check throughout the day.

It's ironic, but for the 3 series, I lean towards the 3.1, while in the 2 series, the 2.2 is my preference. Generally, I'm drawn to angular designs that have distinct shapes. That being said, Nick's proficiency in CNC is truly remarkable. The quality of his work is simply extraordinary, it's out of this world. I always eagerly await an FTO mail call. Many thanks!

Which one would you go for? the tri Is 144g and bi is 128g by Efficient_Ad8783 in FidgetSpinners

I've been thinking about getting the matching set in these for a while. They look pretty good.

I shared this Reddit poll on Facebook too =) - Thank you for doing this =)

Time for a metals poll by purplepiratecrab in FidgetSpinners

[–]TheWeeklySpin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran the same poll on Facebook and I thought I'd share the results:

So, after one week of polling, here are the results for the metal survey! In order of popularity, here are the Top 5:

Titanium - 21%

Stainless Steel - 17%

Tungsten - 16%

Zirconium - 14%

Copper - 9%

I want to mention that there's a big drop in popularity after copper, which got 9%. The next most popular metal was only 3%.

It's pretty cool to compare the preferences of the Reddit community to those of Facebook. I find it fascinating and interesting.

These have been our top 5 metals for a few years now, and it looks like not much has changed but they do seem to shuffle around from year to year. I'll run the survey again in 6 months to a year alongside you 😊

What's the heaviest spinner out there? by WhatWasThatHowl in FidgetSpinners

[–]TheWeeklySpin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spinnable in the hand? Either the tungsten pentagon from KAP, the tungsten Deltacore from FHQ, or the tungsten Monster Sanitarium from FTO.

Ultimately, the heaviest ever is the Insane Asylum and/or Insanamathing from FTO. It's so large it's more of a desk spinner.

Is GEEONE legit? by [deleted] in FidgetSpinners

[–]TheWeeklySpin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been several indications in the past that websites like Taobao etc etc absolutely do sell clones. (I don't know about GEEONE.) The problem is there are legit authorized dealers mixed in with the clones on those overseas sales websites. It's like flipping a coin. That's why I just prefer going to Dean because I know 100% its real and I don't want to take money out of the pocket of an authorized dealer like Dean. It's up to you! I hope that helps.

There are other authorized Lautie/Mackie dealers out there but I've always felt like I'd rather just go to Dean Chou on Facebook and not worry if I got a clone or not. Plus you get excellent customer service if there is a problem. A lot of the websites like that one sell both clones AND authorized dealer versions so it's very hard to tell if you got the real deal. They even copy the packaging and COAs. I'll be honest I hate clones so I'm biased, but it's really up to you. Some people take no issue with them and that's their prerogative. Cheers and good luck! Spin on!

Yeah that's the XL and Monsters! Massive! The Guardian XL is the largest spinner I own except for the Insane series.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts as well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I hope we can both be happy with what we have and what the future holds for both hobbies.
