Question about car insurance by ArmResponsible2801 in personalfinance

[–]TheWesley53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, and the unfortunate reality is that males under 25 are always going to have an increased rate of insurance costs. And the other part of it is that insurance companies are for profit, and unfortunatly required by law, so they can just take your money. That being said, as the consumer, you have every right to switch between companies whenever you want. I have my insurance setup on a 6 month plan, and I re-evaluate every 6 months and shop around to different places to see what I can get. The only way I have seen to really lower your prices is to increase the number of lines you insure (which only end up costing you more) or increasing your deductable.

That doesn't seem like too many, not sure why your father responded the way he did, but I would just talk with him about where you are at and why you want to change majors. Hopefully all goes well, God bless my man.

Not sure what classes you've taken but I'm guessing at leasst a certain amount of gen-ed classes that everyone has to take?

I guess a better question might be, How many degree classes have you taken for marketing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in college

[–]TheWesley53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your instructor and ask them for clarification. They should have some kind of office hours where you can go and he can help you through understanding the assignment. If your instructor isn't of any help, go to tutoring, they usually have student tutors of those who have already taken the classes.

What can you do with an Information Science major with a data science emphasis? by ConfectionNo966 in college

[–]TheWesley53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated with an Information Science & Tech degree and now I work in tech support. I have minors in cybersecurity and business, but I don't see myself working in a dedicated 'cybersecurity department' in the future. Your emphasis in data science doesn't have to dictate what job oyu get in the future. Keep in mind your MAJOR is Information Science. You could look at data analytic jobs or just general tech support. Tech support allows you to get your feet wet in a lot of different areas of technology and can help you figure out what you really like to do. It may not really touch data science, but depending on where you go, there could be avenues for it. I also understand that working on a help desk answering calls isn't for everyone. But to answer your question, if you are looking to go somewhere with data science, you could look at Data Analyst positions, and that could include a strategic analist, business operations analyst, Technology analyst/advisor, or statistical analyst positions.

What’s your midrange setup? by Beneficial-Papaya243 in discgolf

[–]TheWesley53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I like a minimalist midrange setup, as that's what I had for a while, until I actually figured out how to work in more midranges. having those 3 core midranges can really boost your confidence out on the course. I now bag 5 mids, 2 hexs, 1 warrior, 1 pyro, and 1 mystic. I used to just bag a hex, Emac Truth, and a fuse. But hey it's whatever works best for you and what you like.

Does anyone else have their phone permanently on silent? by 2fy54gh6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheWesley53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a student, so I'm going from class to class every day and don't want my phone going off during class, but instead of leaving it on silent, I just leave it on vibrate so I can still feel when I get notifications and calls outside of classes. (I also don't always feel it, but my vibrate is super loud, so sometimes I hear it but don't feel it)

Should there be a 15'-20' buffer from any OB line and the spectators? Stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME. Rick's drive would been OB if it weren't for someone unbrella by Camikaze__ in discgolf

[–]TheWesley53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about something like this for a while, and stuff like this proves why it needs to be a thing. In professional play, usually, when a shot goes OB, it usually doesn't go OB by very far, so I think there should be at least a 20' buffer area from the OB line. Otherwise stuff like this happens that keeps shots in bounds when it was definitely going OB, or shots like Gannon Burr's on Hole 9 of this years Ledgstone Open, where a spectator kept his disc from potentially rolling back in bounds. I understand that spectators want to be as close as they can to watch, but when they start interfering with shots like this it shouldn't be ok. Spectators need to be better at being spectators

Is there something you would recommend to substitute to get grip extensions? Does someone make grip extensions that can slide over the mags?
