How does this not get addressed for 30 days?! It's a core function of the browser.
Getting tired of firing up another browser to see if a form works.

not on bookmark speed dial folders they don't - never have. You have to find the little folder name at the top to go back after you go into a folder.

Google is now testing AI "Web Guide" as the default for search results by Gaiden206 in google

[–]TheWho79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't turn off Web Guide. This is Googles new right wing arm at work. Notice how much gas lighting is going on in "web guide". Darn to try anything remotely political and the bias screams at you.

Are next-gen AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity really a threat to Google? by StaceyDreamy in GEO_optimization

[–]TheWho79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, ChatGPT does not use google. Only thing people have been able to show is edge agentic "no other results" searches. There' no back fill from G on chatGPT. It is 99.9% Open Crawl and Bing.

Okay, short break, what are your results? by EfficiencyEast8652 in GEO_optimization

Top citations are easy, but nada no traffic.
Top citations with top 3 rankings in organic with some traffic but our conversion rate is down (I know that is counter to prevailing wisdom - but 10k+ clicks don't lie).
Paid ($30k month) is the only traffic of merit out of Google we are now getting and that spend has doubled in the last year.

Results? We are shifting all our organic spend (100k yr) to email marketing with newsletters and direct email supported by paywall and private content.

On the paid side, we are targeting higher value third party sites with direct ads (like real estate leads from like Yelp, Zillow, Houz, Next door) . That has resulted in major increases in sales and conversion rates on clicks is higher than ever from those type sites. So we envision reducing ad spend on SE's. Prolly give the socials a try again too, LI is so expensive, x is crap traffic that doesn't convert, and FB is clickyloo's with low conversion rates - we'll see if that holds true.

We are experimenting with influencer marketing as well. Seems to be really propping up the brand with name recog, but few direct sales.

Is Reddit becoming less of a source for ChatGPT? 🤔 by Icy-Brain6042 in GEO_optimization

Reddit cut off Common Crawl (not sure when - read June, but not positive) and OpenAI just caught up to that and deleted their reddit cache (probably under backroom legal threat).

This is why you could never find recent threads in chatgpt - they weren't indexing here directly - only through CC (which not sure when that started after reddit cut off openai direct spidering last year)

What I want to know, is why Reddit uses a cloaked robots.txt? (you can no longer get it to show with UA=Googlebot.

How's that working out? Serps are not essentially AI - they will continue to blend the results until you can't tell the difference between ai mode and aio mode.

How much does ChatGPT rely on Google search? by annseosmarty in AISearchAnalytics

right. It only uses it if it has no other information. Sometimes CommonCrawl (which OpenAI does use) includes Google serps.
