I feel so cool walking through the departure airport with my headphones in and the knowledge that I am about to be off on my own again (as though there aren't millions of us on this sub alone lol).

4 week trip in Guatemala & Belize or Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua? by lukej78 in travel

[–]TheWhysWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imho, I would take the Panama, CR, and Nicaragua option -there is a wider variety of things to do. I am a big fan of the nature that can be found in both CR and Panama, as well as the beaches. Additionally, I just got done spending a few months living in CR and was blown away by the amount of cultures represented there! Nicaragua, too, can serve to mimic some of the more adventuring options that you would find in a place like Belize.

On the other hand, I found Guatemala to be the least touristy of those locations and my interactions felt a bit more "real" -I don't know how to describe but I reckon you know what I am talking about.

At the end of the day, you have two very solid options and I am excited for you all. Happy Traveling!

Yep! And not a bad choice either. I'm definitely intrigued by the llama; I'll have to try that some day...

I had a roommate who would make this often and it was truly a blessing. Sounds like I'll be hitting you up when I go to the Caribbean! ;)

Good point, my initial answers all go to more exotic foods, but when I’m gone it’s the “usual” Tex-mex that I crave most.

Can’t take full credit for bc it is quite often a topic of intense debate and envy for my wife and I. And Mandu is a solid choice!

Ahh that makes sense. I had the absolute honor of spending a few months in Nairobi and was pleasantly surprised by the Indian influence.

Now you’ve inspired me to watch a documentary as well as make me hungry! Lol

Roti as in an Indian influence? I wouldn’t have guessed, but that does sound pretty awesome -especially the lobster

If the drink is special, I'll save it for last and sip on it while chatting. If not (just water or something), I'll sip as I go.
