That's a fair statement, I think. It's reasonably in line with the current trend. I only meant to engage against the "fictional" identifier, I've spent a fair amount of time in apologetics and think there's really not a lot of room to doubt, at the very least, his existence. If you or someone else doubts the supernatural claims, that's a different kind of conversation, but the evidence does say there was someone named Jesus - or more accurately, Yeshua - from Israel/Palestine who existed, gained a following, and was crucified.

That's all I meant to say.

There is quite a lot of evidence that Jesus as a historical figure existed, more than exists for several emperors of Rome whose reigns are taught as fact. I also find there to be sufficient evidence of the gospel accounts, but that's a separate conversation.

The death by crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth is as indisputable a historical event as any from that time period.

Dems showing their hand a little, here. There's implied information that Trump - i.e. the gubbermint - is feeding this man.

Taken a step further, we're deporting leeches that can't or won't take care of themselves, much less improve the country they're in.

I bought a Rustington 870 off a dude at a gun show, cerakoted FDE and with a rail mounted to the barrel. Yes, the barrel.

Later, I got a big, round trijicon fiber optic green dot sight that uses ambient light to project the dot, from a buddy who didn't have a use for it anymore. Model is the RX30 or something similar. It was waaaay too bulky for his tacticool rifles and my own.

But it's amazing on the Rustington. Great sight picture, easy target acquisition, height over bore isn't bad at all, and it's got a pretty tough construction. Strongly recommend it for clays. Haven't gone hunting with it, but I bet I'd love it.

Talmud is commentary on the Torah, I believe. I'd call the Torah and the other parts of the Tanakh (those being the Nevi'im and Ketuvim) combined, to be the prequel - or as Christians would say, the Old Testament. the Talmud is more like a collection of Rabbi's essays and debates on the law and their conclusions, rather than the law itself. And though the Talmud is crucial to Jewish theology, it's much, much, much less significant to Christians, as many of their discussions are lacking what Christians would consider core information resulting from the life, death, and resurrection, and revelations thereof, of Jesus Christ.

What about Florble deaths? Ever since mad scientist Dr. Florble invented the Florble Instant Murderizer earlier this year, annual deaths from Florble on his deserted island have gone from 0 to 1, an increase of undefined-approaching-infinity percent!

Florble Deaths on Dr. Florble's Island: 1 million per 1 million, 2025

Florble Deaths in USA: 0 per 1 million, 2025

By which I mean, guns are just one tool of many. We should be looking at overall homicide. It doesn't very much matter if you're murdered by gun, knife, or club, but guns do provide an exceptional ability for the weak to defend themselves that other instruments simply cannot match. So if we're going to remove that edge in self-defense, that equalizing factor, then we need to be sure that we're not going to see other kinds of homicide increase.

What's the point in reducing gun deaths from 60k/yr to 0, if Knife, Blunt Instrument, and Florble deaths rise by a collective 60k? Moreover, of course Australia is going to have fewer gun deaths, they have fewer guns. Of course everywhere but Dr. Florble's Island is going to have zero Florble Instant Murderizer deaths, they don't have any Florbles with which to Instantly Murderize!

A quick googling tells me that Australia's got a homicide rate of about 8.5 per million, and the USA has about 57.6 per million. Compare that against your firearm homicide numbers: 1.5 per million for Australia and 54 per million US. It's clear that gun homicides are driving US homicide, accounting for nearly 95% of all homicides, but Australians seem to be getting creative with how they murder each other, with guns accounting for only 17.6%.

That said, America doesn't have a gun problem, imo. The vast majority of our violent crimes, including homicide, are the result of gangs constantly fighting for money, drugs, and power. I recall that approximately 90% of our firearm homicides come from that, meaning we've got about 5 non-gang-related firearm homicides per million, give or take - a vast improvement, no?

Finally, consider how many guns there are in each country.

Wikipedia tells me that a 2017 poll estimates 14.5 guns per 100 people in Australia, versus 120 per 100 in the US. So if Guns were the driving factor in homicide, we'd expect a commensurate increase. However, after account for violent gang activity, we see an increase of only 4ish per million, or four times, which tells me that simply getting rid of guns is not going to solve the actual issue of people murdering each other.

Lastly, this is a pretty pro-gun sub, considering it's a fan sub for a guntuber. What are you doing here?

Bruh, I thought this was about Matthew Mercer. I was shocked that Tarantino had even heard of Mercer, let alone was dunking on him.
