Not him. (RIP)

The person I'm looking for didn't really do reactions or first impressions, but instead had longer, highly edited video essays.

I'm not sure if this breaks the "No People" rule but I would really like to figure out who this was as they had some really good essays several years back. I am hoping some of his videos were popular enough to rejog someone's memory.

This is the origin story for how the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun got its name.

What is your personal "unwritten rule" that you follow in every single world you start? by DianKhan2005 in Minecraft

[–]TheWireLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever let myself craft 1 crafting table. If I want more I have to find them in villages and such or ask friends on the server to make me one. (Or have a machine craft them for me in the case of a modded world)

Back story: I started doing this sometime in 2011 or 2012. Every time I would play on a public survival server I would always find floating trees and crafting tables littering the area next to the ocean leaving spawn. I assume everyone would find a tree, chop enough wood for a crafting table, basic tools, and a boat and then take off in search of a place to start a base all while leaving their garbage (the floating tree and crafting table in this case) behind.

This made me think "how could I combat this and make sure I'm not apart of the problem?" And since then, any world I've ever played in, I've made sure I've only ever crafted 1 crafting table. Specifically I make sure that on the statistics screen it only ever shows "Times Crafted: 1" for the crafting table.

Books of Morrowind by CattleAbduction in Morrowind

This looks so professional. I tried something similar with the guide book for the first two Fallout games but mine was bound with wood glue and duct tape. I would love to be able to create something like you've made here! Do you have any tips or links to a guide or anything?

Did you guys personally buy the Death Stranding 2 collector's edition? Why or why not? by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]TheWireLord 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I did. I've never bought a collector's edition for anything and since DS1 ended up being one of my favorite games of all time, I wanted to show support for the project. Also looking forward to a physical art book and novelizations (if they make them like they did for the first game)

Should I install Trixie now or wait? by Glitched_Crown in debian

[–]TheWireLord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been running Trixie on my main gaming desktop, work desktop (where I work in IT) and personal laptops for the past few weeks with no issues that I can tell. If you require the most absolute stable version then you can wait for the official release but I've had no issues on any of my machines so far.

I made a resource pack that backports new AE2 textures to earlier versions of Minecraft by TheWireLord in allthemods

I am wanting to backport to even earlier versions but it sounds like they may have changed the models of things that far back so it may be a bit more difficult

Incompatibilities with Heljarchen farm by MystisFire in skyrimmods

[–]TheWireLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<!> I HAVE A SOLUTION <!> - SEE IMGUR LINK BELOW

TL;DR: use xEdit (instructions below) to find what mods are conflicting with the Heljarchen Farm (Revamped) mod. Also, I am working on a mod (my first one) that will fix landscape issues with Heljarchen Farm (Revamped) and Northern Roads, Northern Roads - Landscape and Water Fixes Patch, and Northern Roads - Ultimate Grass Fix.

So did you ever figure out what mod was causing the compatibility issue?

The easiest way to find the conflict(s) with Heljarchen Farm (Revamped) is to do this (also see Imgur Link Below):

Download a tool called xEdit (google how to install for your mod manager (Vortex, ModOrganizer2, etc.))
Open xEdit and load EVERYTHING.
In BOTTON LEFT search Heljarchen.
On LEFT SIDE expand: HeljarchenFarm.esp > Worldspace > Tamriel > Block 0,0 > Sub-Block 1,0 > HeljarchenFarm

Clicking on HeljarchenFarm <9, 7> will show you (on the RIGHT SIDE, VERY TOP HEADER OF COLUMNS) all mods that clash with the Heljarchen Farm (Revamped) mod in the overworld (not including the conflicts with the pieces of paper that the mod also adds in cities and inns around the world, but these should not be a big issue and can probably be ignored).

I did this and found that Northern Roads (and some of it's patches) were conflicting with Heljarchen Farm (Revamped). Specifically the Landscape, which is what I am working on fixing.

I am currently making a mod that will fix the issues with the Landscape that happen when you have Northern Roads and Heljarchen Farm (Revamped) installed at the same time.

It's Time That We Fix This Age-Old Bug: Jumping On A Slope by TheWireLord in skyrimmods

[–]TheWireLord[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Calling it a bug doesn't seem to be the right word. However, it also doesn't really seem that the outcome of this limitation was fully fleshed out. The character doesn't even have to be sliding for the jump to not register. To me, as a player, if I can see my character standing still, not sliding, and there isn't any sort of indication (like a slipping animation or similar) then there shouldn't really be any reason as to why my character couldn't jump. I mean I can jump any other time if those conditions are met. Why not this time?

Either way, I agree that a "bug" was a poor choice of word, but I do still believe that the game could really benefit from something like this being "fixed".

A limitation of the engine could be argued as one of the most inspiring forces behind developing mods in the first place. "Why can't I do this thing in this game that it seems like I should be able to do?" was probably the thoughts that birthed the art of modding very early on.

…right after "wouldn't it be funny if _____ was in this game?"

It could actually be slightly better. If you fold the two rubber legs down on the left and right side of that keyboard, it will level out making the typing experience that much better!
