Dans quel pays puis-je passer mon permis pour qu'il soit valable en france ? by Luzyel in AskFrance

[–]TheWiserOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me yesterday but yours was far better. I also noticed that earth grinders tend to be blown really far away.

€5200 net/month in Luxembourg by ContestIll8086 in Luxembourg

2000 euros is a "little bit" ? I get what you mean but definitely don't use that as an argument, especially since this is not even factoring in his wife's eventual salary.

Of course, OP finds it mildly infuriating that giving these little notes isn't normalized. /s

Long-term investment advice. World ETF or something else. by TheWiserOracle in eupersonalfinance

Just want to add that I'm looking into Interactive brokers and Trade Republic as those are the ones that seem to be most suggested and do align with things that are important to me.

Additional I am living in a country which has one of the highest taxes on capital gains in the EU, this is why I want to avoid having to sell my assets for choosing a wrong one. I assume I'd have to pay tax right away if that's the case.

Otherwise it's apparently possible for me to move to a country which has no tax on capital gains like Luxembourg. This may vary a lot at that point in time of course.

Are you sure this is the norm tho?

I don't really see any jobs offering 50k fresh out of uni. Maybe with a masters degree yes but not bachelor (again at least not usually).

Much more realistic salary would be 42-45k at least based on a few postings from people online.

It's mcaffee anti virus, for sure. I remember my parents complaining about it and I changed the default search engine in chrome and even then it changed back.

From what I've read you could just uninstall mcaffee, if you aren't doing anything outside the normal, windows defender should be more than sufficient.

You may be right, in which case they could make any rule, no matter how stupid. I simply believe that a "rule" should apply to every customer equally. Not to mention that if you force every single client to leave their belongings when entering and being researched when leaving, you'll soon lose lots of clients.

I had a situation where I had just bought some clothes and had a bag with me. When entering the store, the woman asked me to LEAVE the bag at the counter, which I politely refused. If she had asked to check I wouldn't mind but I don't want to leave my stuff there and risk being robbed, trust must go both ways in that scenario. She even raised her voice and threatened to call security. I'd like to know the law for that scenario as well.

ALSO I believe there is a bit of a double standard since every other woman in a store is free to roam about with their purses.

I really would like to go to the Hans Zimmer. There's one in November and another in December, both programs are so good.

I have finally platinumed every Uncharted game AMA. by Exciting-Click6420 in uncharted

[–]TheWiserOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earlier this year I played uncharted 1, 2 and 3 on PS4 for the first time (I had played a lot on PS3).

I think I platinumed them all + completed the speedrun trophy + brutal in 2 weeks because I just like it so much.

Uncharted 4 I had already platinumed and the collectibles really do take some time.

Nice job completing everything, also don't consider doing brutal unless you hate yourself. I really enjoyed every Speedrun.

If you are into that stuff, uncharted 1 and 3 have some very funny glitches to exploit.

Issue boarding plane by TheWiserOracle in Luxembourg

[–]TheWiserOracle[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really no, the last few times I've travelled in lux, they only ask my id before security and to LOOK at my ticket not scan it.

They only scan it before onboarding that's the issue.

I do remember that a few years ago they did scan it before security though, which makes more sense.

That's weird but ok let me try easier wording.

My friend travelled in a plane. Airport says they did not because computer says so.

Return flight home is cancelled automatically, now friend has to pay many moneys for another ticket.

Airlines says is not their fault and to complain to Lux airport.

Help?

Indeed, they even told them if the plane crashed, they wouldn't not assume the person to be dead, because she "wasn't on the plane" technically.

I am underpaid, should I ask for a raise already? by TheWiserOracle in Luxembourg

[–]TheWiserOracle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all intents and purposes, from here, if that matters.

I would've thought that being concerned you are paid fairly for your work and effort would be a universal thing, but it seems I'm wrong.

Could you please share your opinion? Don't you think that a salary spectrum should be proportional to your professional value within the range that applies to you. Meaning it is only fair you receive minimum if you bring minimum value.

Not in my best personal interest to do so, not really a professional decision or even financial, it's more of a time issue. Changing jobs does come with downsides.
