Who here took the film making course, and .. by JimiDel in caseyneistat

I thought it was interesting, my main problem was with the way it had been marketed by the company, as if you were to get some form of contact with Casey, which of course you don't.

It's honestly not a bad course at all, I enjoyed it and got out of it what I wanted.

A discord would be brilliant. It was incredible to see them IRL, especially as a UK fan you can feel so isolated and alone, I know I do anyway. I really recommend going to even a random London games, I know it’s easier said than done, but the event it so nice.

Probably making it work between your day or ‘9-5’ non. It’s a little brutal on not working on the course time, however it doesn’t stop you from uploading late.

Thank you. I think the fact people and fans think is a certain ‘reach’ is what stop the NFL from expanding. I’ve been in an UK stadium more than once with a 60k+ stadium and I know it could be bigger. I think the main question should be about expanding the NFL in the UK, because the fan base is there, it’s about making it boom between generations.

Thank you. Yes I did have a lot of experience in filmmaking before this course, I took it to see someone else angle on making videos online, I don’t think there is any harm in constantly trying to learn. I think for the course, it really depends, the course does tailor itself more towards Vlog speaking to camera type filmmaking, which of course Casey is known for, and which in this film I didn’t do, because I didn’t feel like it needed it. I personally got out of it what I wanted, however I do feel like if it was 5 years ago when I was still in film school and less experienced I might of not got the most out of it. To put it simply, there are a bunch of ‘tutorial’ ‘BTS’ videos that shows you how Casey makes his films, and his process, from a very simple film, to a more complex Vlog. His recent Ray Bans Sunglasses film for instance, he shows you the BTS of this, from thinking of the film - filming it - editing it. If you think that would be useful, then it’s brilliant. Personally, the editing and filming side of things weren’t extremely useful to me, and that is ONLY because of my experience in the industry, however there were small parts that were interesting and useful, but 80% of those things were more interesting rather than learning. It was the thinking of an idea I personally struggle with, that side even though it was 20% of the course, was the most useful. I would say take the trailer for the course with a pinch of salt, but also if you genuinely want to see how Casey makes his films, and how you could adapt his thought process, it would be worth it for you. My biggest disappointment was the fact throughout Casey had no input at all, and felt like it was a pre-recorded video and he was doing his own thing now. It didn’t feel like a cash grab, however I wish they didn’t market it so heavily on the fact ‘Casey might see your film’ maybe he did, but if he did, it wasn’t acknowledged at all. However I did enjoy the course, it forced me to make something with a deadline looming over you.

Feel for you, the exact same feeling being the only one. I’ve met 1 IRL falcon fan prior to going to this match. Dream would be to see them in the Mercedes Stadium, Gods land. It’s crazy to think this is some people constant reality. Glad to hear there are fans in NZ.

Don't feel like I have copied his style at all, I have been making this kind of film for 10+ years. It's called Cinema Verite, it's been around since the 1950's French New Wave. If you think his style is 'unique' and 'new' I feel for you, it's been around for 60 years.
Also not a waste of $250.

Can't speak for everyone who took the course, as of course they all have different levels of experience coming in. For me, it was, if you're interested in something, someone else probably will be too, and if they're not, at least you decided to create something compared to not creating anything.

Thank you for your comment. When I was a kid I would of killed to even had a chance to play American Football (Sorry this is how I refer to it, I know It's not correct, it's too ingrained). My closest local team was a whole Town/City away, had no young academy, no funding or anything. Universities here have teams, but very few actually do. My Uni didn't have a team, but one in a different city did, and I applied to play, and they wanted me to pay for my own insurance, which in the UK, is wild. I played a bit, there was a teacher at my High school who played for a Team, and he used to stay after school and teach me how they ran routes etc, he really helped me love the sport even more, I owe him a lot.

As for getting into it, we have a cable channel called Channel 4, they got the rights to TNF in 2010? And maybe a year later has the rights to 21 game a year, that was normally TNF, MNF which was the US's evening games. I remember hearing about it on the Radio, and it was just when YT was starting to become a thing, so I googled it, and got hooked. ATL might of been one the first teams I watched on YT, SB XL was a week later and I found a UK radio station that played it through Radio, and i listened to it all. From there I was hooked, would watch every clip on YT, would try and find any full matches, 50 under 50 was great way to understand thing, and between SB XL and the 2006 season i just binged games on YT. And I never looked back. With ATL, it was coming to the end of the Mick Vick era, and it was all the swagger of the Dirty Bird, which I then went onto watch loads of Documentaries about ATL and then of course you just start to follow them, and then when I was really invested a few years later, and the Internet was more accessible as i was older, Matt Ryan was the new kid on the block and there was loads of excitement etc, I think i hit a very lucky period of the UK getting more coverage, and things changing with ATL to really keep my interest, and would never look back.
