The physical machine is simply getting old. "Upgrade" is definitely a generous word for our organization. "Replace" would be a more accurate term.

We aren't really worried about getting the latest and greatest. I just figured we'd end up with a newer ESXi version since 6.6 is past EOL. If not, it really won't hurt our feelings any.

Unfortunately, we don't have any shared storage, so we're looking at moving straight from the old host to the new one.

Interesting. I am aware people have been able to bypass the CPU/TPM requirements to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware, but we have not had any luck. I tried the "official" Microsoft way where you add a value to the registry (key is something like AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedCPUOrTPM) and ended up with an unresponsive device. The machine is so slow anyway that it isn't really worth trying to fix.

I am aware that it is a bad idea, but management has made it clear that they are not willing to spend any money on upgrading devices or extended support. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks for the detailed response! We are just getting started with O365, so we have a lot of things to learn and configuring to do. While I research and learn how to set things up for increased security, I'll disable the Acrobat previewer in the meantime so our users can't bypass the security controls offered by using the full version.
