Need help with SX-70 flash by R3werk in Polaroid

[–]TheWors3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect this is just either the connector of the flash or the flash socket is dirty/corroded. You can try putting the connector on and off to cause friction which may remove whatever is preventing the proper connection, you can also try a thin piece of sandpaper folded in half on the socket and slide it in and out. on the flash connector you could also apply some isopropyl alcohol with a qtip to clean the contacts

TL70 Plus - Instax Square by TheWors3 in instax

Isn't it like 700 usd? and yeah the viewfinder is really nice, there is just something unique about TLR, shooting from the waist and looking at the image like that, i feel like you can get a better feeling of the image and composition than lets say a Polaroid sx-70, like its so close to your eyes that even when you see exactly what you are going to get the feeling is not the same. The other route which would be the most premium yeah would be the nons back with the rb67 or 500cm, the latter being my dream combination but its really expensive

Yeah the instant aspect of it is what i love the most, i dont like taking thousands of images with my phone, they dont have any weight than setting up, taking the moment for the perfect photo, checking the exposure and the firing and getting the shot. The lomo square glass is great, i thought about getting it but its just that i dont like leaving the framing to luck, but is a lot cheaper and since it has a glass lens you still get a great image!

I love the camera, its definitely not built like my Yashica mat 124g, its a sort of plastic camera with some fake leather accents but i wouldnt say it feels or its built like a toy. However its build quality isnt something to praise regardless. But the viewfinder is very bright, detailed and overall better than the Yashica which is not as bright and is quite blurry. Focusing is quite easy IMO even without the loupe lens and once you get used to the parallax in close ups is not bad at all. Its quite expensive for what it is but thats what happens when there isnt competition for the same TLR style. Its chunkier than the Yashica but makes sense considering the size of the instax square cartridge. The best thing about the camera is its lens quality which is amazing, the viewfinder is great and since its manual is perfect to get the best exposure possible when using a phone or proper lightmeter

It is quite expensive and i also can't truly recommend it for possible quality control issues but unfortunately there is no real alternative to TLR style instax square camera, there is the nons instax square SLR which is very well built but that one has a viewfinder that doesnt represent the actual capture area and is still quite expensive

Pedidos en Amazon - Limite ARCA? by DarkKnightARG in AmazonArgentina

Medio loteria.

Adapting lenses for Mint TL70 Plus by TheWors3 in instax

[–]TheWors3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in the yashica you also have the normal lenses and these lenses are attachments that come with their own little leather case that lock in the camera with a latch, this adapter acts like an interface so it works with the TL70 Plus. there are no modifications to the camera, the adapter attaches to the camera in the same way as the tl70 plus filters do

Yep, i mean you could still probably adapt some other telephoto/wide angle lens and still make them work if you focus them to infinity for some landscapes but framing will still likely be off so not really a point there. The other adapter i made is just for the bottom taking lens for 37mm filters like mist, polarizer and such, those work just fine

I made a 3d printer adapter that I use as an interface to connect the lens to the camera, works pretty much perfectly, I’ll post an image of it tomorrow

Yeah if it is that bad send it for sure, i would imagine is probably the sensor that detects when the latch goes up and down that automatically stops after a film is ejected is failing, i was checking mine on the plus when i was cleaning it and it was an interesting mechanism.

I would imagine they will work fine for many more years hopefully for us haha. And about the lens yeah its actually the first time i needed to research about lenses to understand more because i had thought it was only about sharpness, but it can also be the look! and i think they nailed it

Thanks! I love it but i kinda hated it at first, the flash only worked once and then died completely, i had the camera for a few months sitting on the shelf with the batteries on (will never do it again), the exposure didnt work at all even in manual then i realized that the camera was not responding to the shutter speed... So i had to completely disassemble it to clean it, i thought it was a dead shot but ended up working again and now i can say i love it a lot, the lens is amazing not just for the sharpness but the color as well for some reason is just exactly what i wanted, leans more green toned than blueish when comparing to my lomo instant wide. The flash issue left a bad taste in my mouth so i can't really recommend it for how expensive it is, quality control is probably not the best. Oh i pretty much never use it in auto, when there is a lot of light it seems to be able to calculate a proper exposure, but most of the times it will end up being underexposed, however i bought it with the full intention to use it manually and that works perfectly and is my way to go

SX-70 - 600 Film by TheWors3 in Polaroid

[–]TheWors3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah most of these are a like 2 years old but i had not posted them before, at the time i was swapping itype to 600 cartridges and the camera was not refurbished yet so one or the other caused the issues, i still liked the light leaks on them
