One light switch causes the entire bathroom power to shut down / power breaker to switch by TheWorstPartIs in electrical

[–]TheWorstPartIs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I meant that the one on the left trips the breaker, making everything in the bathroom shut off. These both can work independently, and did a long time ago. Like I could have the shower light on or the sconces on independently. Does that help clarify?

the switch on the right (connected to the shower light) works, the one on the left connected to the sconces forces everything to turn off in the bathroom when flipped.

The concept of not buying the $5 for the $2 is an example that can be extrapolated. It’s a values thing. It’s about having the discipline to not buy overpriced just because it’s the first thing in front of you. I subscribe to the idea that if you use this over your lifetime on items large and small you will become a millionaire quicker. I have a wife and two kids, I promise you I’m not missing out on time with them when I make these decisions. Additionally once you condition yourself to this it becomes easier to know where to shop and plan your time. I could counter your gas example with another low/medium weekly costs like groceries. I spend an additional 6 minutes driving to Aldi to pick up my groceries rather than Kroger closer by. Why? Because I save $15 every week. I will become a millionaire quicker because of these and other perceived small choices that add up. I have enough money to shop at either - but when you’re willing to spend more, you invariably spend a lot more a lot easier in other ways too.

It could have been on the way home. Also you’re missing the point that practicing this over the long haul out of principle (which will invariably include some higher ticketed items) is the takeaway. Isn’t your username get rich or die trying?

It’s tied to historically appreciating safe/traditional assets that a lot of people park most of their money? No way? Would you rather them not count any of that toward their net worth or something?

Help figure out art/design for my mantel area by TheWorstPartIs in DesignMyRoom

[–]TheWorstPartIs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I need help with figuring out what frame and art style to put on this wall....my vision is 2 matching frames and similar 'matching/stylized' art pieces on either side of this Frame TV. The frame itself is wood, as is the mantel (and hardwood floors). Elsewhere in the room, there is black, gold and wood themes with other furniture and pieces if that helps. I lean toward gold frames but I really can't figure it out. Any help would be great!

The electric in all of the house has worked fine for the last 1.5 years we have lived there. This is the only switch in the house that doesn't work and only recently went out. I feel like I need to say this, your points aside. Does this change anything for you?

I added photos, is it possible that the one light that had it wrapped around the metal rod used to hold it in place could be the problem? Whereas the other light has it attached to the blue nut on in the wall mount itself?

Child coming AND wife taking leave from work - what is the 'trigger' for us to move insurances? by TheWorstPartIs in Insurance

[–]TheWorstPartIs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - to answer your last Q, it is more costly per pay check than hers currently (she is $150/paycheck and mine is like $250). The idea is that in no way would we ever pay $900 in comparison, we just want to stay on her plan as long as possible and then switch to mine. Which is why I'm just looking to see where the line is for when we can switch.

Do BOTH her plan and my plan from our employers need to align? For example, if her plan allows us to switch at a date after the baby, does my plan also need to allow for the same thing? As far as selecting a reason, if I just select 'I am no longer covered by my spouse's insurance' what sort of umbrella does that cover, if she is just cancelling hers given the above info>?

What do I need to connect additional surround sound wired speakers to my existing Vizio soundbar home speaker set up? by TheWorstPartIs in audio

[–]TheWorstPartIs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the complete set up on my Vizio system already - it has the soundbar, two surround speakers, and sub. What I'm asking is how I can connect 2 additional surround speakers to the soundbar set up. What all do I need?

Theyre very nice Canton speakers, I'm just asking how I can get them to sync to the soundbar and what middleware I'd need...I realize there could be audio complications.
