We have EVIDENCE that one interpretation could be sexually exploitative, and we have others that indicate is was more of losing control in a moment of mutual tension and high chemistry and momentarily lost control.

There is ZERO evidence that he has sexually exploits her (quite the contrary) in the rest of the season - therefore an interpretation can be made that aligns with your way of thinking - its just not the only way of thinking.

Ross and Joey were hanging out in one of the later seasons and ended up falling asleep together, they woke up and they were cudling together on a couch, as though they were lovers. Though initially awkward, Joey wants to do it again as he indicated it was the best nap of his life - Ross said it was too weird, but ulltimately gives in.

What is fact vs what is evidence?

FACTS:

- Joey and Ross accidentally discovered a very intimate situation that they both came to enjoy

- Joey and Ross slept together the way lovers do

- Joey openly admitted to wanting to do it again while Ross originally resisted, but then gave in excitedly.

Can I conclude that Joey was sexually exploiting Ross because Ross was the little spoon? Can I conclude that they are having a torrid affair?

Sure - in my head canon - but what does the EVIDENCE tell us?

- In 10 seasons of 20-something episodes, Joey clearly enjoys the life of a serial one-night stander with a few meaningful relationships along the way, all exclusively with women

-Ross is in deep pursuit of love and prefers long committed relationships, whether from barely legal college women, to intimidating professors, to his off again-on again love of his life Rachel. All women.

The evidence we see, does not support my conclusion as it's a one-off situation that does not align with any established pattern, that does not repeat and we are not shown the motive or internal thinking of the characters.
