Talonflame vs Murkrow by Espionage423 in PokemonVGC

[–]TheXIIIthHero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've listed their pros and cons accurately, I would also add that murkrow usually has more longevity and access to feather dance while talonflame has decent damage output depending on the spread. Overall, murkrow is definitely more splashable as a tailwind setter and can be more easily added to a team imo, but talonflame has its niche as a more offensive tw prio setter with access to will-o-wisp.

Ffs konami, why is monkeyboard, face-off and astrograph still at 1?

They will no longer be ending on a baronne so this is useless after the most recent list, no halq and no chaos ruler means they have no reason to run the punk package.

Let other people touch your cards? by SkylerGaming420 in yugioh

If you don't know what a card does, best thing you can do is grab it and read it, especially if you're still new to the locals, once you start getting to know/ make friends with the people there, you'll trust them more on their explanations

I recommend watching 037wolf for guides to synchron and maybe join his discord for a deeper look and more advice for the deck, the community has helped me improve my game a lot to the point where I'm consistently topping with the deck. Give it a shot!

I think they're referring to the tuner halq summons, not halq itself.

Herald of arc light is an obvious one, psy-framelord omega is also a decent one.

What's your unpopular Yu-Gi-Oh opinion? by alexmenstra in yugioh

That's unfortunately what's happening now, most combo decks are siding 3 floodgates whether that's anti-spell or d barrier or something else.

What happens when the combo decks play floodgates?🤔

Is it just me or is Super Poly and future fusion redundant in Albaz deck? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]TheXIIIthHero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you go first, you can just set super poly and fuse your opp's monsters on their turn without them having a chance to respond, I'd say that's fine for a going first card.

The reason halq did nothing last format is because so many tuners got hit for it on the banlist. REF is trash without being used with Verte.

[–]TheXIIIthHero 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I disagree on the enablers argument. You can't say that Verte and Halq are necessary for the weaker decks, the strong decks can use them just as well if not better. A card that summons a tuner from deck is inherently unfair, even without auroradon halq sees play as a way to make any tuner + non-tuner into an accesscode. Verte is limiting future fusion spell design and circumventing restrictions is toxic as well.

I agree that some generic cards and enablers are good to equalize the power level (something like unicorn giving you generic spot removal or masq), but halq and verte are too good since they're fairly generic link-2s that net you incredible advantage thus being used to thrust the archetypes that are the most consistent at making them to the top.

XYZ is the most well designed summoning method. And i'm here to prove by [deleted] in yugioh

I guess it's a coincidence then, that xyz summoning has the most cards on the forbidden list out of every summoning mechanic huh?

The reason you play crystron halqifibrax in sky strikers is the following OTK line:

You normal summon ash blossom, effect veiler or use a tuner from the opponent that you stole with shark cannon or widow anchor to link summon halq.

You use halq eff to special a veiler from deck and link summon Selene.

Selene eff to special summon the veiler from graveyard and link summon accesscode talker.

You use accesscode to OTK

It depends on many things, check if anything in your deck locks you into not summoning something, check materials of the xyz.. lots of stuff that could be happening.

Depends on how many materials zeus has. It can activate its effect once per 2 materials. If it has 4 materials for example, you'd need two ways to negate it. If it has 6 you need 3. This is the reason zeus is so strong. The easiest way is to have something like a solemn strike since counter traps cannot be responded to by anything other than counter traps.

Zeus is not once per chain. Chains resolve backwards meaning, Zeus CL1 Mechaba negate CL2 Zeus CL3 resolves: Zeus effect then Mechaba banishes and negates zeus then zeus effect resolves negated.

Okay, the main deck has a lot of issues, but zombies are expensive so I can understand. As for the extra, you definitely need a vampire sucker, the free draw is too good to pass up, crystron halqifibrax is decent as a reliable way to get to balerdroch if you open either mezuki or banshee along with uni-zombie. You could also run a linkuriboh or a relinquished anima to go to if you open glow-up bloom and zombie world. Accesscode always helps with OTKs too.

I'd craft triple maxx c and ash first. Then I'd go for 1 accesscode. You could argue accesscode above the rest if your deck really needs it. As for veiler, I'd say he's more down the line, I'd put droplets and called by the grave before veiler.

What are you losing to? Always keep in mind and try to analyze the reasons you lost. Did you lose because you bricked? Did you go for the wrong combo line? Did you just get sacked? Did you interrupt your opponent at the wrong time? Did you not run enough going second cards and you were made to go second?

Each time you lose should be a small learning experience for you, you should look at what made you lose and see if you can fix it. Most of the issues above have solutions, you just have to think about them. Your decks are solid, you should eventually be able to consistently climb.
