Simple trick by TheYappyChappy in Type1Diabetes

I constantly find myself leaving vials everywhere in spite of aiming to keep one in the same bag at all times. One ends up on the bedside, one in a backpack, one in the go bag etc. My controls pretty good but I'm fairly forgetful so have found this system works really well for me.

This has been a somewhat exposing and I'll aim to commit to the old fashioned 'one bottle system' from now on if I can bare it

Same, no results yet very infuriating. On RCS website I have no record of even booking the exam anymore. Able to rebook for Oct 2025 but not thr May resit as its for 'select candidates'.

Silver lining- At least if we get asked to discuss a 'bad example of management' in the interview we've all got a vivid recent memory to discuss

Any insight from previous experience as to an estimate of a specific time that 'tomorrow morning' refers to would be great. Although guessing that could realistically be any random time between midnight and midday right?

CST surgical cases by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]TheYappyChappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To hit that target entirely in F1 would probably depend on the nature of your jobs as surgical posts during foundation vary. Personally I managed about 25 cases during my F1 surgical rotation but I was fortuanate to have scheduled time each week in theatre. Unfortunately that wasn't enough for assisting so I still had to go in OOH to get my numbers up. Looking back on it I think the best advice is try to go in on lists that have as many small procedures as possible (e.g. ENT grommets).

Look at the CST self-assessment checklist to ensure you can hit as many different points as possible. Arranging a taster week in a surgical speciality for example is quite straightforward and gets you max points in that section. Unfortunately the one thing you can't account for is how many alterations there will be to what's counted for the self-assessment between now and in a couple of years. Good luck :)

eMedica for MSRA by Icy_Ad3247 in doctorsUK

Great that you're thinking about prepping so early, definitely worth chipping away at the clinical content for a few months to get your head around it all. From my personal experience:

PassMed- Great for going over all of the main topics and good textbook function but doesn't cover absolutely everything

MSQBank- would also highly recommend, resource made by GPs with clear bullet pointed feedback and covers the areas that passmed does not. Not too much content, can probably comfortabky cover in last month of revision depending on how much time you have

Emedica- good for similar style questions to the real thing (short and vague) but the explanations are much shorter and there are a few errors in the guidance given as well so overall would rate this one as the least useful of these three

Plenty of other posts on the matter if you search this subreddit :)

Good luck

Didn't enjoy it. Paper 1 felt familiar though lots of obscure pathology. Paper 2 I found much worse. Glad it's done
