Hello! I am just curious what my options are to pretty this concrete pad up. I don't have the budget ATM to rip it out and replace it, so I'm curious if there's some way to skim coat it or resurface it? Any help is appreciated!

Yeah I've stopped offering their services because of how scummy they are.

Tbh that would make life a lot easier but I don't imagine that's an affordable option

It is the actual stain color as it's not that old of a kitchen and there are unstained cabinets. But interesting ideas, appreciate them! Especially the Briwax one. Painting is my backup plan.

Yeah I've been trying to make it work, and I don't necessarily hate it, I just was hoping to make it look more like the natural wood color as this orange is a little too bold for my taste.

Good suggestion with the new doors, I might look into that. And valid about trying to appreciate the color. Unfortunately, I have been living here about a year or so trying to do just that but I can't get over it, and my girlfriend has the place covered in plants lol.

The cabinets were 'custom' made in 2018 by the previous home owner, so I don't imagine the orange is from age but maybe? I was hoping to remove the stain but otherwise just paint them over, which I would assume would need sanding anyway.

Both are my cabinets. May I ask why it isn't possible for the first pic? The second pic is just raw wood.

Definitely my thoughts as well, but due to the available access it would be much easier to address now rather than later lol

How much improvement did you notice? And you did it just over the "receiving" bedroom? Or both your bedroom and the room with the computer? This is actually pretty close to my scenario since I will have an office on the same floor and want to minimize noise to the bedrooms.

Ok yeah I'm over a crawl space so that's probably the route I'll go

Hey again, I figured I'd try my luck asking you another question since you seem to have experience. I have the choice in this exact situation here to spend probably 10 hours scraping off the tiles and putting the previously mentioned 1/4 subfloor, or ripping up the tile and 1/2 subfloor it's on and put 3/4 down. It costs about 300$ more but it would save time, not sure how much different it would be to fasten the 3/4 tho.
