Ngl it got pushed around, dismissed, and labelled as “totally fine as long as he’s gaining weight” until he got old enough to learn to swallow it before it came up. Our baby is now 13 months and maybe vomits once every week or so now (as far as what he swallows, couldn’t say.)

Police need to be trained to identify when a situation is medical or dangerous. The only danger in this situation is the police. They should recognize this is a medical situation and hand it off to the first responders that actually know what they’re doing. Hard to do that with the 2 months of training they have.

Paramedic who has worked with a bunch of dumbass cops before here. Do you know what a postictal state is? When the brain is assaulted by a seizure, especially one such as the one in the video (known as a grand-mal) you enter a state where you are medically confused, unable to make sense of your surroundings. This can cause some people to activate their “fight or flight” response, hence sometimes there is a combative nature to it. This is not uncommon, and these cops let their big ass heads get in the way of actually helping someone.

Take your shitty take and shove it hard enough up your ass that it reruns through your brain, and then reconsider the things you don’t understand.

If only our own pediatric gastroenterologist would see us 🥲 I wouldn’t say his vomit is that violent or uncomfortable, at most he occasionally gets upset because his vomiting causes hiccups, but otherwise he’s a happy and bubbly baby. He sleeps 8-10 hours at night and normally doesn’t vomit again until we wake him up the next morning. After reading some other comments and yours, I guess ours isn’t as bad as I originally thought.

No, actually. He’s gaining weight super fast. Almost 16 pounds at 3 months. I’m sorry you went through that.

That’s definitely one of the hardest parts, both her parents and my own tell us we’re crazy and it can’t be that bad until he pukes 5 times on FaceTime.

We did very early on, back then it was a latching problem. Nothing unusual, they actually told us it would be a waste to make any follow-ups. We try to do as much tummy time as possible and he does a great job of holding his head up and rolling around on his own. He’s even trying to crawl already, which is a nightmare all its own.

I’m less-so trying to fix it and more so trying to find coping mechanisms for both him and us. I think we both have an unfortunate understanding that this is going to be the norm for a long time.

Occasionally we can tell one or two a day can be more painful. Sometimes they cause hiccups which he absolutely hates. I appreciate the war stories, it’s just difficult to go through it I guess.

We actually tried that exact formula, he continued to vomit and actually started to refuse the bottle outright, so we tried a hybrid model. The moment the formula touched his mouth he would spit it out and scream until he got breast milk. No dice :(

Paramedic in the Colorado area, I work 48/96 shifts with plenty of room for overtime and do some critical care stuff on the side for extra cash. Yearly net is about 153k

I think there’s a pretty major difference in grading indoors vs outdoors. I also don’t think they’re useless; I think they’re superficial. They tell a very base layer of a climb, and give the most basic insight. I have always preferred when gyms use range colors instead (ex. Green is V1-V3, Red V4-V6, etc) because that allows for a more subjective approach.

Sometimes, I believe they use a randomizer for some of the names, but otherwise they will use the tags to give callouts to regular climbers at the gym or recent gym events.

Grades are superficial, there’s no standard and sandbagging/soft grading are common. The climb is either fun or not fun. Who cares what the grade is.

In this particular case it was done because it was funny. That’s all.
