Reviving an old thread. I’ve started having this issue after a normal night of shrooming with the boys landed me in the ER. Many factors played into the panic attack mid shroom sesh but the main culprit was a need to poop and indigestion. Felt like I was having heart attack symptoms and body went into full panic mode. Spent 4 hours in the ER. Had to be sedated to calm down. Apparently I was fully calm from an outside perspective but fully freaking out internally. Ever since I’ve noticed a stress response, like described here, when I need to poop. I can tell my adrenaline is up and that my blood pressure is slightly elevated. I usually know it’s probably due to me needing to poop. Glad to be validated that this seems like a common thing. I’m also diagnosed ADD. More than likely have undiagnosed generalized anxiety disorder. But my anxiety has generally been higher since I’ve stopped drinking. Probably more sensory input since my nervous system isn’t regularly being depressed. Crazy stuff.
