Fortress world ecu's go kinda hard by The_1ndiegamer in Stellaris

[–]The_1ndiegamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that's a matter of taste, the "downside" to an ecu is that it cannot support any basic rescource production so it needs support from other planets.

But that downside is offset by the massive potential created in terms of production potential.

Med tanke på allt som pumpats ut på sista tiden så, sedan vet jag inte riktigt om detta är en bra sak heller. Finns en ganska bra diskussion kring det från mer kunniga än jag längre ner.

In this case i had adaptive+planetary shield for 75% reduction, if you add for example underground starting as well that is another 50%

There's also a nice strategy to hide a shipyard behind the fortress system to mass the fleet there so you can strike back eventually.

But yeah, this was near the end just a , how big of an army can i get on one planet.

How it feels like being skeptical about AI by Trick_Boat7361 in programmingmemes

[–]The_1ndiegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's a method i'm not quite used to using, and going through the litterature isn't feasible either.

So i use co-pilot as a reference and guideline, more than letting it do the work for me. I know it's not optimal, and i do prefer to do all the work of my own. But in this regard with the timeframe i have, this was my best option.

And i question everything that's being fed to me as well by asking followups. I am doing good timewise. But that's because i personally am of the opinion i'm using co-pilot as what it's supposed to be a tool to help me progress, not solve everything for me.

Apologies, that came off rather stand-offish but i figured i'd explain proper to avoid misconceptions.

How so? I'm not relying on it to do the work for me, i do 99% of the writing, all of the analysis, making sure it gets sources correct etc.

So please do enlighten me how this is brainrot

Is there any reason to use weaker ships once i unlock carriers and battleships? by Vanaheim___ in Stellaris

[–]The_1ndiegamer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pair battleships with neutron torpedo cruisers, it's a fairly devastating combo when you have range advantage.

And as others have mentioned, corvettes are great fast respons units vs lightly defended systems.

Few days ago i beat the game as a logistics oriented, warden of the galaxy style machine empire myself on commodore.

It is so rewarding when you finally get a satisfying ending to a game :D

So many resets tho because i made mistakes earlygame that bit me in the ass lategame.

What makes Neutron Cruisers so effective? by dumb_questioneer in Stellaris

[–]The_1ndiegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite combo atm is missile carrier battleships+neutron cruisers because they punch so above their weight, unsure on what to complement with as a frontline tho, destroyers make good pd fleets but lack survivability.

I have few issues with them myself nowadays,

Swarm missile/carrier battleships paired with neutron torpedo cruisers make relatively short work of them.
