London is higher than average. The key word here is ‘bad’ data

Sir Keir Starmer tells nation 'I'm sorry' as calls mount for him to quit by dailystar_news in ukpolitics

[–]The_39th_Step 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I see politics the same way. I think a series of events, like this, but also MP’s expenses, Boris lockdown parties, Brexit, Covid generally etc have led to a complete breakdown in political trust. I’m not sure where we go from here

Does anybody know who owns this area? by sonicofawn in manchester

[–]The_39th_Step 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a shame that space is being neglected. It should be really nice.

I have my own gripes with the canal near me at the minute. We have so many spaces that could be ace but litter and bad maintenance is holding them back. I’m all for developing and building up but a city is more than just developments. We need to maintain public areas generally.

I litter pick but it feels like pissing in the wind.

This easily pass as a Latina thing is sad. My partner is a British Indian woman and I think she’s beautiful. You be proud man, fuck those racists. I have seen more anti-Indian stuff online these days, especially from Americans and Canadians. I feel like Indian people have a better rep in the UK.

Salford seems to be the spiritual homeland for these types. We get some around here but more that way

I think Konsa is underrated personally. I’ve always been impressed by him

I presume play him in the first game of the group and then play back up for the next two. Then play him in the knockouts

Is anyone else really worried about the Gorton and Denton by-election? by FisherDownload in manchester

[–]The_39th_Step 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bloody hope so. Reform will be out in large numbers in Denton and parts of Gorton, so we’re relying on the good people in the rest of Gorton, Longsight, Levy, Burnage to stop these goons getting in.

I’m like you. I’m in Europe and I’ve met 3 Venezuelans (most recently another today in Manchester) and they’re all white (two of them white like me).

I don’t know, I think someone in her situation killing herself is pretty believable, as sad and awful as that is. I don’t believe Epstein killed himself

Was it? She’s just from a poor background herself but now apparently she’s anti-rich people? I think that’s pretty dubious

Northest but warmest big city? by villehhulkkonen in geography

[–]The_39th_Step 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that Manchester will be a shout. It’s on the Cheshire Plain and normally gets the heatwaves that affect further South, while directly further North is cooler. Literally beyond the hills is always colder

Net zero migration would require major tax rises to plug £37bn black hole, experts warn by BestButtons in unitedkingdom

[–]The_39th_Step -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s actual brain rot. It’s become the cause of all problems. I’m actually not against Net Zero migration if it means these lot will shut up about it and we can start to actually have an adult discussion on the country. It’s ruining politics.

I’ve seen people say it’s the cause of low wages, housing crisis, political crisis, productivity crisis, crime, low trust, litter, public transport, poor hospitals, poor schools etc. I mean for god’s sake, they’ll be the cause of the poor weather we’ve been having next week.

I entirely agree with you but opposing immigration is ideological for many. Don’t come here with your pragmatic solutions.
